| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here $1600? DAMN!! Hard to understand why this system should cost so much more. I guess they figure they'll boost their margins on the new bikes. |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here when they first came to the US, weren't they $999 for the 929/954? Then it went to $1099, isn't it to $1199 or $1299 for them now!? OUCH is right! |

I just think it's a little strange that the system price is so high on a relatively new company.
I did some quick checks on the internet and found that full systems for the new 1000RR are pretty pricey. It seems that Arata pricing is similar to other quality pipes.
Let me know how the install goes. I heard installing a full system on the 1000RR is a real pain. |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here Yeah, what Conq said. Arata/Striker is a very reputable company with a solid product. Have you seen one of their exhausts?? They are full titanium, the welds are beautiful; works of art, really. And the gains with them, at least on the 929/954 are among the best. Pricing, as you just pointed out, is comparable with other full systems currently on the market. You've heard of D&D but that doesn't mean they're worth a $hit. |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here I'd hazard a guess that the increased cost of the 1KRR Arata system is simply because of the extra material and workmanship that has to go into it. Lots more bends and welding going on with that underseat configuration. |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here Arata is one of the best out there. At that price, I hope they went all out and created a system from scratch, unlike the goofy offerings from other manufacturers; TBR/LV/etc look like they just took their regular oval cans, turned them sideways, tacked them on, and presto!, a 600RR/1000RR exhaust
As far as cost goes, let's not forget the worsened exchange rate, changing import tariffs, or additional transport costs across the board |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here You're all wrong. One, the Arata system not being reputable? Bahahahaha You should be a comedian. They out perform and are better made than any system on the market that I've seen. Two, the CBR1000RR system are expensive compared to the other modes (929 etc) because of the conical header design. As far as I know, Honda put a patent on that header design, and therefore anyone who wants to make a system for it, must pay Honda for the use of it. Have a look, it ain't your normal "round" headr pipe where it goes onto the bike. My mates system just arrived, I'll be fitting it and mapping it tomorrow. I'll have the results up within minutes of finishing it. Ha |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here Oh, I know what you're saying, but each bike is different. You might not be able to get that sort of power from the 1000RR and a system. The same way any bolt on gave the 929 at least 5h.p, while the 954 you were pushed to make any. Like I said, I won't know until I do more systems, how that compares. Stay tuned.

What sort of prices are the Microns ? |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here You didn't read my post above. They are all that sort of money because of the conical header design that they have to pay Honda to use. That's why they're so expensive. It's not just because they decided to charge more for them. The same thing for the 600RR is $2150, same thing basically but the 600 doesn't have the patented header design that they have to pay Honda for. |

Nah....I read what you wrote..and I understand what you are saying about the patented Honda conical headers ( though conical headers have been around for a while.....why is is that companies now have to PAY to use the design....unless they are just copying the Honda headers.....which doesn't sound terribly impressive to me )....my point was that if all the exhausts for the Honda will now be that much more expensive due to having to PAY Honda to copy their header design ( if that is what they are all doing.....which is why I asked about the pricing for the Micron ).....then the other bikes have a bit of an advantage there.....that's all. |

| Re: 1000RR Arata Exhaust is Here Fortunately my days of road racing are well into the past. So no costs to me as I use the bikes with stock systems on them. Ah what a relief to be away from worries & costs like above. Yes just a simple hwy rider that clocks 5 to 8 hrs each time he is out & that is 3 to 4 times a week so the money, not spent of the exhust system, goes into petrol, oil, tyres, chains & such.
