| Leaving for Laguna! I'm leaving in about an hour. Put the new headers on last night so the bike is back to 100% for the trip! If you see a big tall ugly guy riding one of these, stop him and say hi!

| Re: Leaving for Laguna! I'm back... Saw no one there. Saturday night was a bust. Cannery Row was dead as they closed the street to all motor traffic at around 5:30.
The racing was incredible! It was good to see Vermeulen back on top with his Honda 1000RR. That's three races in a row baby! I got to shake his hand in the pits, what a great guy! Also saw Chili in the pits, another great guy who came out from the garages when I called his name.
Ben Bostrom was awesome this weekend. Caught up with him after the races for some autographs! Saw Miguel too along with Roger Lee. Didn't get to see Zemke but what an incredible ride on Saturday. After restarting way back in the pack due to mechanical troubles, he brings it home in third. It truly was an awesome ride! The battles between team mates Laconi and Toseland in WSBK were the best this year! What a great weekend for racing!

| Re: Leaving for Laguna! They close Canery row down to 4 wheeled traffic. Bikes are allowed all the time. If you didnt go check it out, you missed out on a major part of the weekend.

| Re: Leaving for Laguna! Well, they usually do but this year they shut the whole thing down, even before all the cars had to move. When they started moving all the cars out, half of the row was empty of bikes. I had to park off the strip in a parking garage even though there was plenty of space on the row.
I had more fun crusing the row and checking out the bikes on Friday night as Saturday was dead but Friday the streets were lined with bikes. Saturday had lots of people but not too many bikes. What a waste.
I've been to the row every Saturday night during the race weekend for the past six years and this was by far the worst night of the bunch.

| Re: Leaving for Laguna! Niner,
Big Kahuna was right, they shut down the road to all traffic at 5. We got there around 6:30, and no go. We had to park off site. We just went and ate, and then back to the hotel. That definitely sucked. Although the guy with the bike that was covered with Rhino Liner, had a stereo and speakers in the back seat, and speakers in the fairings was absolutely hilarious.
Races were good though.

| Re: Leaving for Laguna! Gotta' back ya' up on the great racing action. It was an awesome race weekend.
I didn't even go downtown. I ended up helping wrench on bike 82/182 (Ricci Racing) each evening and left the track late Friday and Saturday night. Wasn't planning on becoming an AMA wrench, but met up with a friend who was wrenching for them this weekend and he PUT ME TO WORK. Damn, I certainly must work to cheap (free beer).
It was great experience though and the rider, Darin Eli Edwards, did really good for his first time at the track. He finished 17th in Formula Extreme and 18th in Supersport. Right behind Chris Ulrich in supersport. His best lap times came on the Formula Extreme bike where he dipped into the 1:32s. All with a broken foot from Brainerd btw. They were a great bunch of guys.
They're next planned event, do to Eli's foot surgery happening, will be at Road Atlanta. If any East Coast guys get there be sure to cheer them on. They're truly deserving. |

We couldn't park on Canery Row either, but found a nice hotel nearby with motorcycle parking for free. Anybody that stayed for the formula Xtreme races couldn't make it to the row by 5. Oh well, at least we got seated at Bullwackers right away. |
