I too was very cautious of my behavior and how it would reflect on the Service. For some reason when you are around a military town the papers and the news services are quick to announce you are in the military and what branch. Makes for a bad image on the service but John Doe can go out and axe murder thirty people in one night and who does he work for? Hmmm, no mention, why?
As for your handle, got the definition fm dictionary.com. See a word I am not familiar with, I look it up. If it defines who you are, then fine. | MRE's have come a long way. They've got some decent stuff in there now. Of course I only had to eat them for a week . Time to ride . | |

| Re: Couple of smart ones.... Speed,
My wife is in the Army reserves. When she goes on her weekend camping trips (yes she hates it when I call it that), she brings some home to give to the kids to eat. Keeps em humble when they b*tch about SOS. Yeah, they have come along way. That tabasco will kill the taste of just about anything. Fm what I here they are tons better than the K-rats. Now that she is a REMF there are no more MRE's. We keep a few around and bring 'em out to antogonize the kids. |

Thanks for the love from the Navy Mojave.

| Re: Couple of smart ones.... OK...I read....and read....and finally had to speak up...
The Marine Corp. is no longer part of the Dept of the Navy since the late 80's...it is now directly through the US Dept Of Defense.
Next....During my 6.5 yrs in the Marines I spent 1yr, 4mo, 21 days aboard misc navy ships and while the Navy does seem to have more shitbirds than the Marines...I assure you that I dealt with my share of mental midgets in the Corps. although I still am convinced that the Corps is BY FAR the most disciplined and well run branch of the militay. If Abu Grhaib was run by marines...that crap would never have taken place.
Next...I would MUCH rather eat MRE's than the crappy ass black beans and toast we had in the South China Sea beacause 3/4 of sailors were bedridden with sea-sicknes...BUT...once the water calmed down we had steak and lobster...NOT ONCE did I ever get that during a field excersise as a Jarhead! So????
As for the original topic...I also take some offense to generalizations regarding the military.....Idiots are everywhwere. I have two friends in high school who pulled the EXACT SAME THING...one of them near fatal...lots of major scars all over his face to this day....
So..........my point?? there is none!... Screw this all and lets RIDE!!!! |

Screw this all and lets RIDE!!!! | actually I'd say the point is those 2 guys were screwballs and its a shame that the reports had to say they were in the service because if the local grocery store stock boys had done it then the only reason we'd know they were stock boys is cause the Cap'N Crunch hasn't been restocked.

the Cap'N once said in an episode of The Family Guy "that bastard is spreading vicious lies, my cereal does not cut the roof of your mouth" and he was talking about Count Chocula, it was hilarious

Time to step on up with the big boys now . If you are going to keep Trucking as a career, you may want to look into a company that offers free schooling for new hires IE; Swift, England, Werner, and Knight. You have to stay on with them for a year or two, or they pro-rate the costs, but you will have some good experience by the end of the term so you can get a local job that pays well. I can hook you up with a guy at Swift, but that would be here in So Cal .

SPEED. | yeah I use to drive a bus and I didn't pay for any of the traning of testing, only paid for the permit (and now the place I got the license at is paying the trainees, I think like $350. my friend who I trained with is in charge now cause he's on the 6 year plan at school and I did the 4 to get the hell out) But yeah I wish I had my class A, another friend who I had worked with there and who I ride with now (the guy whose 929 was stolen) has his class A from where he works now and we might just go rent a Truck so he can teach me. He let me drive his work truck once, wasn't all that hard really, backing up was a little tough but I'm sure with more practice some of it will get harder and I'll get better (I didn't drive it far and it was on a deserted road at 2AM and he was jealous that I could downshift better than him). There is a school like 5 minutes away from me that trains for CDLs and maybe I'll go there but I gotta stop spending money on the bike and car first.
