| Ummm...shouldn't be. If it'd happened on the street he'd probably be much worse off if not dead due to hitting a tree, armco etc.....after my get off a couple months ago at around 140 I'm still much more leary of riding on the street then I'll EVER be of the track. |

Good luck, Pete. Heal fast! | Yeah, Looong and banked like a nascar straight.. I'm no racer and have only been on a few tracks but T1 at TWS has given me more pucker effect than any other turn. It's Like T1 and T4 (blind dropping left??) at Grattan combined. It's not a blind turn but you are usually high up on the banking near the wall then you shoot down into T1 at a high rate of speed and your suspension nearly bottoms out in the transition from banking to flat surface.. At least that's is how I remember it.
Heal Fast, Pete!! |

Heal Fast, Pete!! | That would be T3 (blind dropping left) . . . Both T1 and T4 are right handers unless you're running bass-ackwards (like we will be doing on Friday) in which case T1 (now T11) is a blind dropping left hander. |

| Good News. Pete is now in his own room and there is no longer any need for any thoracic surgery (exploratory or repair).
The orthapedic attending is waiting on a consult from a shouler specialist (Greg Harvey) so they have pulled him off the ortho surgery rotation pending his input. That means he now can have some of that outstanding institutional food. Obviously he doesn't have a huge appetite at this point so he doesn't have any specific requests for food-smuggling (yet).
For those of you sending e-greetings, he is now in room 671 and he is actually admitted as Alfred Richard.
He now has a laptop now so hopefully he'll keep us updated. |

| cut/paste update from Yulia I went to see Pete last night at the hospital. I've printed out this thread and the one in the Track Day forum and Pete really appreciated all the messages and well-wishes.
He is scheduled for surgery Friday and may go home soon after that although he'd have to come back for rehab work regularly. He seemed to be a bit more comfortable although still in pain, and can't wait to get out. He shares a room with a guy with a broken eye socket who got punched in the face, hopefully he can get a private room some time soon. He has his cell phone with him in case any of you wanted to call, but I honestly don't know what a good time would be, maybe some time in the evening.
