| HELP! Vibration After Rear Tire Change Okay, I got cheap and only replaced the rear tire on the 1000rr. I replaced the OEM Bridgestone 190 with a Bridgestone 180. Had the wheel / tire balanced and then remounted the wheel myself. Checked alignment and torqued everything to spec.
Now I've got buzzing and vibration and the bars shake like mad when I take my hands off. I didn't notice any of this with the old rear tire which BTW was still decent. So I had the front wheel / tire re-balanced and it was cool. I'm guessing I gotta' just buck-up and get a new front tire. Cupping on the front tire is almost non-existant.
I think I put all of the cush drives back in.
All of this just seems really odd. |

All of this just seems really odd. | While riding to work the other day I took my hands off the bars to adjust my glove and got the same thing. **** was shaking like crazy so I doubt it was the change of the rear tire b/c I havent touched mine and I have the same problem now. I have to play with the front end this weekend and check it all out. |

| Re: HELP! Vibration After Rear Tire Change Thanks for all the help folks. I took everyones advice and ordered a new front to match the rear. I am pretty sure this will solve my problems. |

| Re: HELP! Vibration After Rear Tire Change I don't know if the tire is gonna fix it (but it might), this sounds more fundamental than that.
Are you sure you got the wheel aligned? Is the cush drive properly installed and seating on the rim correctly? Is the bead properly set all the way around on both sides?
Put the bike on the stand, the bike in neutral (engine off) and spin the tire as hard as you can. Watch and see if the tire rises and falls indicating it's out of round.

| Re: HELP! Vibration After Rear Tire Change Thansk LTL. Yes, fundamental is right. I really had a hard time believing that putting a new rear tire on would have affected my bike in such a negative way.
The front kinda' needed to be replaced anyway, I am certain it would have passed inspection, so after that we shall see.
Good thoughts on trouble shooting though, thanks. |

~3400 miles.
I went to a 180 on the rear, not that this should have any negative effect on vibration unless it is out-of-round like LTL has said. |
