| Delusions of Grandeur Surprised any sportsbikes?
Most guys they run into on a sport bike have very little seat time I guess

| Re: Delusions of Grandeur Ya, you should read some of the BS on the ST1300 and GL1800 sites. They genuinly think they are blowing away sport bikes any time they actually pass one regardless of the situation.

I've surprised a few sportsbikes with my GP bike but other than that I guess I'm just not fast enough to blow liter bikes away on my Vulcan . . . |

| Re: Delusions of Grandeur I was out for a cruise with a buddy on his TT600 just before I quit the street. It was still in his first 6 months on the bike and I don't ride fast on the street anyways.
We were up on 9 and this dude on a Bimmer passes him and then me. Full leathers on my 929. The guy keeps shooting me looks, slows to let us catch him then takes off...
You're the man bimmerdude! |

| Re: Delusions of Grandeur its just like the tpyical 19 year old with a mustang. you pull up at a light and they think they're hot shits and when the light turns green they goa nd spint he tires and take off. I have come to find out its just guys with a GT that are dicks, the people with the old 80s LXs are good people actually, I know bunch and they have actually built their cars and don't go and act like asses all the time. One has a 347 stroker and the other a 302 with a huge blower, they know they can beat most people on the street so they don't try. The kid with the blown one raced a friend of mine on his 929 and I'll suffice to say the kid on the 929 thought of doing a wheelie because he won that easily, of course the mustang kid blamed it on the pavement being a little damp.

| Re: Delusions of Grandeur I passed a Beemer bike today (wasn't sure of the model as I didn't care) in my Integra.
So, I must be able to waste any sport bike with it. Right? |

| Re: Delusions of Grandeur I led my group for a ride through Ojai a few summers ago. We started up the 5Fwy through tejon pass (very windy valley) we came up on a big Lazyboy Honda think it was a 1600. The driver kinda resembles Santa. We caught up to him as he was pulling 80/85. So he pulls out in front...kinda like walking away from us. So we crack the throttle a little more. So we are cruising about 110 with him leading and the rest of the traffic is cooking 85/95. Our bikes were staring to get tossed about by the crosswind so we back off.
Many twisties later we pull over and rest somewhere near Ojai. Santa pulls up and stops to visit.
Talking to him.. He didnt feel the crosswind. he informs us that the reason is his bike is at least twice the weight of ours even though he has a sail (huge windshield). He kinda laughed about the wind and we went on our way.

The funnier part is that the KLR guys (aka: wielders 38hp/400# machines) refer to the GS's as slow handling pigs, and many of those guys have never touched a sportbike |
