| Guess What Another New Member.
I found the site awhile back and finally decided to offically join the site. I use to ride in my teen years, but gave it up for 4 wheels. After about 15 years I couldn't resist the temptation any longer and have been riding for about 2 years now. When I started out 2 years ago it was on a Kanata and then to a R6, until about a year ago when I found the bike that I plan on keeping and that is the 954. This seems to be a nice site with some nice people, so it looks like goodtimes will be had. |

I had a 03 R6 and the major difference is the HP and torque, but everyone knows that. I had 7500 miles on the R6 when I traded it for the 954 and the one thing I have noticed over time on the 954 (11500 miles) is that the R6 seems to be a little sloppy compared to the 954. The 54 still feels like it did the day I rode it off the showroom floor. The R6 is a nice bike, but there are no regrets going to the 954. If you have anymore questions are anything specific between the bikes ask and I will try to answer. |

| Re: Guess What What do you mean sloppy? Does it handle as good. I have always heard the larger bikes dont handle like the 600s. I cant see anything handling any better or taking curves like the 6. I absolutly love the r6 but I am ready for some more power. |

| Re: Guess What The controls on the bike just seem to feel sloppy over time, nothing that affected the bike it was just something I noticed between the 2 bikes. The 954 does turn in alittle slower than the R6, but with average riders you will never be able to notice. I added a Scotts steering dampner on the 954 and now it feels better than the R6 felt in the turns. I see your in GA, what location. We try to make it up to Suches a couple times a year, and I was able to take the 6 and 54. The 54 just felt better in the mountains. The one thing that the 54 will do is make you a lazy rider, due to you don't have to worry what gear your in coming out of the corner, it just pulls. |

| Re: Guess What I am in South Georgia(moultrie) so I dont rid much with anyone. Most people here have cruisers. I believe the 54 runs about 30 more horses than the 6. I am sure thats a noticable difference. Is it enough to keep you sastified. I still have a small piece of me that is considering a r1 or gixxer 1k. I think 160 hp is probably overkill though.
By the way, welcome . |

I should have done it 10 years earlier. Hell, what am I saying. I should have never gotten married. |

Thanks for the welcome. There will be a noticable difference in power from the R6, as for the R1 or Gixxer they do have more HP, but when it comes down to it you won't be able to tell unless you want to run over 160. The one reason I went with the 54 is because there is R1s and gixxers on every corner. Buy what you won't because in the end its going to be you riding it. |

| Re: Guess What I pretty much have my mind set on the 954. I have always loved hondas. I had 2 streetbikes, 1 dirtbike, and 4 3wheelers that were all hondas. I figured I would try something different with the yammie. I have absolutely no complaints with it. I have read a lot of horror stories on the r1 forum to keep me from buying one. |
