full face with the flip up front. we've talked about police riding gear before. Motorcyclist had a thing on it. they had a pic of an officer wearing a full police aerostich suit I think it was.

Chain you of all people I can't believe said they spend more time off the bike than on it and use that as almost an excuse (I know you didn't really mean it like that though) Its pretty much the general concensus on this site that any time on the bike full gear should be worn. Like I said in that old thread they can always just zip the jacket down the bottom so its almost all open and that way if they need to they can quickly grab the zipper and pull it up and not have to fiddle with the 2 sides. I would like to see them wear atleast some better gear. its the regular people that pay their salaries so its almost as if they're our equipment. I want them to be protected so they can continue to do their job.

Despite what it may have sounded like, I'm not defending the stuff they wear or even the lane sharing issue which started this thread. I'm only offering up what the guys who actually ride the bikes on duty have suggested as reasons for doing what they do.

I honestly have no vested interest in this debate either way, though as a general premise I'd not argue with anyone that gear is good.

yeah thats exactly what I thought you meant. its just a shame that they do all that training to be as safe as possible while riding yet they can't wear good motorcycle protective gear.
