It is the popularity of meat pies and beer that give the average Australian male the so-called "beergut". However, we have a bakery nearby that actually makes tasty pies that could even be called healthy. The menu includes Lamb stew pies and Red wine beef - my favourites. So sometimes I'll drop in to this bakery on my way home from wherever and pick up a pie or two and maybe even a dessert pastry as well (to share with my wife - don't want a beergut ). Putting them in the trunk sure beats stuffing them down my jacket!
Where do you put the vegemite?

We call that "to go" and a "pot pie". But they're not too popular in a resturant, especially to go. You can buy Marie Callendar's frozen pot pies which are pretty good for frozen crap.

929 trunk can definitely fit a loaf of wonderbread and meats if you don't mind it a little squish. Don't have manual in trunk, trying to save weight.

so when you go to a trackday you don't take a cooler since you have a place built into the bike to keep the bread and meat

Well I guess vegemite is OK for vegetarians to eat but it is a yeast extract made from left over brewery yeast. It is dark brown and salty and can be used to make gravy or spread on toast, sandwiches etc. It is an acquired taste which I haven't. Most Aussies think of it as quintessentially Australian and while it was invented in Australia, for a long time it has been made by Kraft Foods which is a US company. Now you know. Link

Re: 954 trunk mod

A friend of mine went to Australia a few years back and brought back Vegemite. I tried it on a cracker and thought it was quite disgusting. However, to each his/her own, I guess.

Did your friend put butter on first? Vegemite is only good on crackers or toast when it is spread over a layer of butter.

No, I didn't have any butter on it. Hmmm, I'll give it another shot when I go to Australia before I die.
