| Four in a Row! Amazingly, in Boise, Idaho on December 24, 25, 26 and 27 I have been able to take brief, cool rides in our mid-to-upper 40's temps. Nice!
You sure appreciate it this time of year because there are so few opportunities to ride, making each brief ride a joy, no matter how cold your fingers get (and they get REALLY cold).
We're back to snow from Wednesday through next week, so it looks like this will be it for a while. |

| Re: Four in a Row! Sounds nice whip, I'm happy for you.
Round here, once they lay down about .5" of salt and sand on the road (this took place weeks ago in my hometown), that's all she wrote for wintertime riding. Hell, it's going to be near 60 degrees in the next few days, but my bike sits until the first good spring rains wash this **** off the streets. It's like riding in a cloud of talcum powder-esque salt. |

So much fun to be back on the bike though.
Chain - Fortunately they don't use salt around here - just sand which is bad enough, but certainly not as corrosive. Roads are fairly clean right now, you just have to watch out more than usual at corners and intersections. |

| Re: Four in a Row! mid-upper 40s, thats the last riding of the season I do, once it gets into the lower 40s I call it a year. My fingers still get cold but not cold enough where I only ride for 20 minutes, I can still go a couple hours. you just gotta take a break or 2 and warm them up, sometimes I try to stick my let hand down into the engine "bay" to get it warm. that worked great on my old ninja but the blade doesn't leave much of an opening to get the hand into. Also I move my right hand fingers a bunch if its getting cold, try to keep the blood flowing.
Around here they do a sand and salt mixture. they went freaking nuts with it last year, it seemed like everytime it snowed they covered it with sand/salt then plowed then sanded again. Probably only seemed like that cause I live right next to the town line and the town next to me likes ot half ass **** so they sand a lot rather than plow. Sucks living on the line cause those assholes lift their plows right in front of my driveway. My town is atleast kinda nice and they go over the line and push the snow onto the side of the road. I was suprised that with the big snowstorm yesterday (little under a foot) I didn't find any place where they salted when I was driving around today. |

| Re: Four in a Row! If I had a Ducati, I'd ride it all year too. After all, I couldn't care less about throwing it down the street after hitting a pile of salt, sand, or cinders. |
