| What to buy ??? I just received my insurance settlement from my stolen 02 954, from State Farm. did pretty well on the claim probably more than if i sold out right cleared $6,950. after deductible.
Now I am trying to figure out what to buy, was thinking of an interceptor or a 04 1000 rr. Ive even seen some 04 kawi' 10's pretty reasonable, although never been too fond of Kawasaki.
Give me some ideas before i do something responsibly with the money. |

| Re: What to buy ??? Interceptor or RR see Conq's post Both are very fine bikes in different ways. I would pick the Interceptor for long rides or two up riding. For fast and twisty the RR. However while the RR is not much good with 2 the Interceptor is fine for the tight stuff In the end if you get what you wnat you will have fun.

| Re: What to buy ??? I'd say you were treated pretty well by your insurance company. That's a fair settlement.
The 'ceptor v. either the 1KRR or 10R is almost an unfair comparison. The repli's will do things the Viffer could never hope to do ... and vice versa.
It could be argued a guy doesn't need more than the VFR's ~100 hp. And these days -truth be told- I'd give up all the horsepower for comfort and range if I had to.
Luckily for me, however, I don't have to. |

Luckily for me, however, I don't have to. | Comfort is relative, I caught some ice on the 1KRR the other day and it was kind of a what the heck was that moment. The bike is rock solid on handling, it just depends what type of comfort you want (unless it is a Suzuki )

The truth is that that heavy bike is capable of much more than we think.
For street riding, if you're riding faster than a Viffer will go, you're riding too damned fast. Ask those squids on R6's in Kentucky who were trying to catch Baketech.. All they could see was his luggage disappearing into the distance.

Certainly, there are iron-asses like Sheep who can tour on a repli-racers, and gods like Pridmore who can fast-scratch on tourers, but those are somewhat atypical examples IMHO. |

| Re: What to buy ??? I sat on the 10R during the IMS in San Diego, wondering if it was going to be as small as the magazines were saying. It felt like I was sitting on my 954, with the clip-ons in an even more relaxed and less tucked in position.
I'd buy one in a hot minute. Be a fashion victim with your side pipe, and enjoy a midrange tug similiar to a 'Busa! |

| Re: What to buy ??? And since I your picks look similar to mine let me add one bike to the mix. Check the CBR600F4i while it is not a liter or the flashy model, it is a light bike with a 2 up seat and strong engine. It might give the Interceptor a run and is about 100lbs lighter. I thought it as comfortable as an Interceptor. The 2 downs are side exhaust (Interceptor even has factory bags available) and the smaller engine probably needs higher revs to produce the power. Just a thought.
