hmmmmmm | well I can speak from fisthand experience and say that guy is a complete freakin moron (aside from stunting). my suomy has never once fogged, not even a tiny corner. my glasses do but not the visor. I find it fits great too but thats all because everyone's head is a different shape. The guy obviously doesn't know how to purchase a helmet.

| Re: NY Bike theft ring busted You know why 'enterprise corruption" carries such a light sentence? Because that is what CEO's and other corporate thieves get when they get caught with their hands in the "cookie jar." They should really charge them with a bunch of stuff. Grand theft, illegal use of city property, being scumbags, etc. |

| Re: NY Bike theft ring busted I'm sure those old threads are on a tape backup somewhere...In cases like this, it's good that the gov't sets format limits for drives.
I wonder what it would take to bring back the punishment horse thieves used to get back in the day? |

| Re: NY Bike theft ring busted These fellas aren't necessarily "in custody". According to the reports, they've been charged and arraigned, but you saw in the news video that at least one of the crew had been released on bail. Whether they show at trial, don't cut deals, are found guilty, are sentenced, and see the inside of a jail cell - and for how long - remains to be seen. But these guys obviously don't mess around, they're in a bad spot, they have a large crew, and they are resourceful enough to track down addresses and all...anyone here ever spent any time in Queens? Ever even been there? It's a pretty tough place. The news report said the bike-theft victim who got this whole investigation started lives in Queens. My bet? That he's in hiding or protective custody or something. Bottom line is that you probably don't want to go picking fights with any of these dudes...

I am a moderator at 1000rr.net, and we run a respectable site, and have a great group of people there. | D'oh sorry I was typing from memory. I had only been to .com and decided Fireblades was the only place to bother coming. This was about the time a Mac group also was over run by foul mouthed children so I was happy to find adults here .
No offense meant.

I can't stand public safety advocates (including police spokespersons all around the nation) who constantly parrot the same old crap: "Give your car up, don't fight for that purse, let the suspect have his way with you, it's just not worth the risk to fight, yadda yadda." Well lemme tell ya, just because you comply with some criminal dreg provides you no assurance of survival.
I say, fight back! I tell people that all the time on the street. Don't back down from a criminal. Fight to protect what's yours, to protect yourself and your family. Put your name on a crime report. Be willing to cooperate with the cops. Testify in court. Send people like this where they belong.
Screw "these dudes" - the toughest convicts I've ever run across in a 16 year LE career aren't the ones that shoot off their mouths like these twats anyway.
I applaud the citizens who might "go picking fights" - to do otherwise is to hand the inmates the keys to the asylum IMO. |

| Re: NY Bike theft ring busted Don't know what to say except that every one of these gentleman can and will post bail and have just the type of network that encourages "leaving the area". I seriously doubt any of the major players will serve a single day in prison (other than a few days in the local lockup before posting bail).
Several people know that buffdaddy and I had more than a few words and he even started in on Dan Kyle at one point. I can only hope that kharma eventually catches up to these guys. |

These guys aren't so well organized that they will evade any and all punishment for what they've done.
There is an old saying in law enforcement, a bit of self deprecating humor: "We don't catch the smart ones."
I've got faith that these fellas will pay their dues.

Still though, I have faith that -at least most of the time- our justice system works. I'm no Polyanna (remember, we get a little jaded in policing after better than a decade and a half), but I still believe that, in the end, good will prevail over evil.
These guys will get theirs, one way or another. And yes, perhaps it will be karma just as abtech suggests. |
