Almost finished, tell me what you think (a bit wordy)

OK!

Spent a few hours in the garage tonight and got the blade mostly put back together. Just waiting for my frame sliders, then I'll change the oil, put the lowers back on and she'll be ready to ride. Still need to bring it back to the bodyshop for finishing (paint runs, fisheye and orangepeel to polish out) then I'm done blowing money on it until next winter.

For anyone who's been following my twobros racing saga: Sent my original pipe back to twobros. The guy called and apologized, telling me that the flange was welded backwards on the s-bend, that's why I couldn't get it to fit. They sent me a new one which arrived monday. ALso threw in a repack it and some other junk (stickers, magazines, catalogue). Everything worked properly this time. Someone was either drunk or very bored when they built my original pipe. I was very unfortunate to get this ****ed up unit. Twobrothers have redeemed themselves, and I would buy from them again.

Pictures attached:

The bike stripped

BIke with pipe and most of the panels back on

pic of the fairing lower. (hopefully this shows the effect of the clearcoating I've had done; it looks more like the decal is painted on by giving it a rounded edge. May not show up in photo)

More pictures will follow when the she's 100% complete.

I've left out the 2 aluminum heatshields in putting it back together. If I find heat is a problem I'll put them back on.

FOr those of you that think that a: Twobros pipes are crap and that b: I am a poseur:

a:Look at the pics and tell me this isn't a nice exhaust
b:**** you.

hard to tell the extra clearcoat in the pics, it will be more obvious when clean and polished. Stay tuned.

Even though I'm a huge fan of carbon fiber, that can sticks out WAY too far for my liking. Love the clearcoat idea though.

Re: Almost finished, tell me what you think (a bit wordy)

Looks okay, but I would have tried to shorten the mid-pipe a little so it doesn't stick out so far.

It definately doesn't look like any I've seen.

But to each his own, and if you're happy with it... well cool then.

Hey Phobe, where'd ya buy the 2Bros pipe from?? Everyone here in Canada wants an arm and a leg for can's for the TLR. And that's just aluminium, not Tit or CF.

Ok, I do like it........but my question is; In the exhaust mid pipe, is that a quick bend in it? Is that stock or the TB exhaust set up. To me, it seems that would make a loss of power....please educate me.

it's quite straightened out compared to the stock exhaust. The sharpest bend is right after the cat before the mid pipe.

It only appears so long because the tail end is cleaned up. Stock mudflap and plastic fins are gone. With those in place it only comes out a couple of inches, same as stock.

IMO, looks like crap ONLY because the can sticks out too far. If it were my bike, I would get the aluminum version, take the end cap off, cut off 4 inches, and put it back together............

Is that an electric lawn mower in the back ground of the 1st pic?

If so...C'mon, any self respecting blade owner wouldn't own an electric lawn mower!!

Totally unimpressed with your nuclear fusion lawnmower. If we were talking about fission, then I would be impressed!!!!

Like I said it only appears to stick out further because the stock mudflap and plastic fins are gone. I't barely longer than the factory exhaust. Your opinion is noted.

The clear coat looks marv, my compliments.

The can might look a tick long, but it's still a nice unit and I'm sure it sounds the bomb. My personal preference is no under seat exhaust in the first place (unwanted ass heat; no under seat storage), but it's a moot point. Pretty soon all new sportbikes will have them, or so I'm guessing.

The can is sweet (although it does have a howitzer look to it). I bought a TwoBros slipon back in '98 for my VFR800 and came to the conclusion that they make decent products but their Q.C. absolutely sucks. TwoBros always sounds very nice and throaty compared to most other pipes though...
