| Son of a $%*&^#, that's what happened... Here I am, casually reading through older tech posts, and I come across a thread on "Wristbands" around the brake reservoir.
Someone replies that the high pressure behind the windscreen causes the reservoir to "weep" a bit....
And BAM, it hits me, that's how those specks (which I had interpreted as scratches from the numbnuts who installed my res & wndscrn after a get-off) on my Sportech black chrome windscreen are! It ate through the coating on the backside of the screen!
So for any of you out there who have the Sportech windscreen at stock height, get the wristband fix!
And I remember someone on here who had the HRC bands for sale. They still available, or does anyone know who carries such a thing? Big-5??? |

Three little specs showed up from nowhere. Looked almost like etched glass, dull little spots on the inside of the screen. I didn't dawn on me for the longest time what the hell it was. I knew what it looked like (brake fluid disolved plastic) but couldn't figure out how it got there. |

| Re: Son of a $%*&^#, that's what happened... Are the wispy little opaque plastic cups somehow more prone to leaks than the cast aluminum jobbies that have the master cylinders built-in (like on the Viffer or my Busa for instance)? Never heard of this until you guys started talking about it. |

| Re: Son of a $%*&^#, that's what happened... from my understanding they also prevent the fluid from breaking down. suposedly the sunlight harms the fluid. |

| Re: Son of a $%*&^#, that's what happened... Why didn't you post this last year because my sportech screen has the same problem. Guess, I'll be picking up a set too. Thanks for the info |
