I did the final cheap EC ride day, anda m seriously considering getting into BEARS racing for track days.
Apparently, $80 give you 2 practice days, plus the race day. Sounds like a bargain.
I'm split 50/50 with track and road. I love the road, the scenery, the lunch stops, and the early morning start with that chill in the air that makes your breathe look like smoke - you and the bike are the only thing on a twisty mountain road as the light starts to filter through the trees from the rising sun.. really makes you feel alive.
And then there's the track... The adrenaline that hits you as you rock up and register, hearing other peopls bikes warming up for their first sessions, seeing people frantically doing final adjustments for that first session, and then twisting the throttle and leaning into your first turn of the day, knowing that you can take you and your bike to the limit without fear of the laser gun or Mack truck... Not to mention the sound of the engine scream as you wind the wick on up the main straight..
How the heck can you pick betweenthe 2? Enjoy both when you can, I say...
Z...

| Re: Canyons vs. Track : Part XXXIV I voted "Both" even though I havent got to a track yet. No track anywhere near me. Although I do plan on going to one or a few track days this summer. But canyons and curvy roads is where all my fun is had. |

My closest track is 2 hrs away; I'm betting you have one at least that close!

| Re: Canyons vs. Track : Part XXXIV No, but there's Hallet in OK and about 4 tracks in TX as well as a new track in LA. A few hours ride is a small price to pay for track time. |

| Re: Canyons vs. Track : Part XXXIV Actually the ironic part is a lot of the bike trackdays are during the week and my work is next to the track so mainly just get to hear the bikes as I pull into work from school.
