| Bike you miss parting with the most Conq stated he missed the XX the most. So it got me to thinking. What is the bike you miss the most? This need not be something that you could still ride (might have out grown) rather than just bike.
For me it was a '70 Yamaha MX100 setup with a Naguchi kit as a 89cc to run flattrack. Inherited it from my brother for a bit of track time. For it's time a smokin' bike. Basically it only came on pipe for about 1000RPM range (or so it seemed) but wow did it scream. We had a problem with it stretching rods occasionally

Note: I might feel differently about a Manx Norton or a 1965 Velocette Thruxton, or a '92 RC-30, or an Egli Vincent...
But I doubt it. |

But I doubt it. | Yep but some had a unique character or memories. We had a set of purple DT100s that got a good thrashing. One got bored wrong and it was oval shaped so it ate the rings quick. We kept riding though, you had to bump start it and if you let of in turns it would stall if you got to slow A real challenge to ride.

Honest answer? Probably miss my '92 VMax the most. I sold that bike to buy my ex-wife her engagement ring.

| Re: Bike you miss parting with the most There is a part of you in every bike that you get rid of. The worst is watching it ride away. Twice in my life I regreted selling a toy, once was my 97 GSXR750 and the other was my 89 Mustang. The worst is when signing over the ownership and handing the keys and seeing that anxious, happy new owner look on the guys face. Then vroom he's gone bragging on his new toy when it should still be rightfully yours. It's like a pack rat sort of thing, I have a hard time getting rid of any kind of toy.
I just bought a 929RR and absolutely love the bike....to be honest, I don't think I will be getting rid of that bike. I'll just buy another one if I have to but not get rid of this one.

| Re: Bike you miss parting with the most Hands down, no holds barred, Honda CBR F4. Although the 600 was down on power compared to my 929, it was so easy to ride and ride fast, could tour all day, adjust lines in the middle of a curve and still go two up with no complaints. Not to mention it was purdy. |

| Re: Bike you miss parting with the most My '77 mini trail 50. Just something about still owning the one that started it all. I got it 4th hand from a friend of my dads whos kid was looking for a skateboard. Dad popped out to the toystore and bought the kid a skateboard he wanted and showed up with the MT about a month after my birthday. (Times were a little tight and Moms didn't want me on or NEAR a dirtbike, so this was all kept on the d/l of course..adding to the kewlness) Thus my gear was limited to an old discarded pilots helmet/goggles + Pops old work gloves and boots as riding gear. Of course I was like 8? so none of this fit me, which was pretty much the largest challenge of riding at that point
But nothing could compare to going up and down this fireroad out behind a friends house every sunday afternoon until it was time for a fuel up again, which usually meant it was time to leave. Just for the memories held in that bike, it pains me to think how I literally gave it away to someone when I got too big for it

I regretted selling it enough to bum rides (no, not pillion) after selling it to a friend of mine. And yes, it had a "No Brains" sticker on the windscreen ('no fear' to the younger set).
I miss it so much, I want to pick one up to race in the 'Dinosaur' class next year... |

| Re: Bike you miss parting with the most None, actually. My 2 previous bikes were an '82 Yamaha XS650SJ and a '92 Yamaha FZR600. The 2 I have now are much better. I think I'd miss my Duc if I sold it, so I won't, ever. Same for the 929. I'm in "collection mode". |
