| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike Well it's obviously hard to tell from those shots, coz unless the frame is scratched or dented, and/or the engine case is split, there is NO WAY it will be totalled. From the photo's, I'd say around 3-6K, but it's like guessing the amount of lollies in a jar without having it on front of you to see exactly what needs doing. lol |

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike What he'll need to have it back to ship shape and what it needs to be perfect are two different things. THe rad has a few small scratches and a little dent. They'll want to replace it but its pefectly functional as it is. They want to recoat the tank cover cause it has a few minute scratches in it.
After seeing it I reckon he wont need to spend anymore than $2000 to get it to the point where you cant tell it was crashed unless you look very closely.
The quote, however, may be as high as $4-5000 |

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike doesnt need tank(cover) or rad. Only needs left side fairing. Nose cone on a 1k is $430, top left is $360, mirror $44. |

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike If it's just bodywork, then I agree, it's repairable.
I gotta say, the fact Mother Honda didn't bring that red/white/blue scheme to the States is a farking rip-off! |

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike If you do the work and replace the upper, lower, mirror but no frame or radiators. I would guess under $1000US to get it pristine $3000US

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike Redwing came back with quote of $6735.60.......this included new plastics (almost all of them, but the tank is just being recoated) a new swingarm which only has minor scratching, new radiator, new ventura rack and a new set of oggy knobs.
I also got a quote from someone else who is going to repair rather than replace the parts that have a few scratches and it can all be done for around $1000 (give or take depending on second hard fairing availability). |

| Re: Guess the $$$ damage to matt232's bike That $1000 sounds good. Are you doing labor yourself? Also sounds like a combination of the two is the best. Some replace some just leave as is.

The engine case, swingarm and other slightly scratched items can be easily recoated. The radiator can have the left tank either repaired for replaced without having to replace the whole thing.
Minimal labour on my part, its all being done by a specialist motorcycle repairing I've been put onto. He comes with outstanding references. |

Have you seen examples of this person's work?
Anyway it sounds promising
But what about this which you posted the other thread? Quote: |

I'm glad it isn't an issue. Otherwise Redwing's quote sounds about what I would expect for a job which would mean that the damage is totally undetectable.
