There is a cool little feature on the bike, you can set it so when you pull over and turn the bike off the rear LED taillight stays on. Could prove safe and useful for those times you stop by the side of the road to stretch, talk, figure out your next destination etc. |
kinda goes along with why they put hazards on the bike... |

| Re: Confession: Bought an 05 G1k.. The "official" suzuki pics don't do it justice. So much better looking in person. I still don't like the pipe and tail (too wide). Is it really a lot smaller (or shorter) than an 05 Gixxer600. I rode a friends 600 the other day and that thing is really tall but very narrow. How's the seat? On my little ride on the 600 it was hard to not sit on my balls.
Nice bike though, congrats.

All those things are all Germany/Euro specific. The "pass" button is a godsend on the autobahn when everyone in their "liter cars" is doing 80mph and you had to slow from 150mph and they're taking their time getting back over to the right lane. The taillight feature is for nighttime parking on side streets that have no street lights, all vehicles here have that function. Looks like Suzuki was saving a couple of bucks by not producing two versions. The Euroblades all have these features too. |

Chain-
Yeah I here you, any damper is better than none. I guess I'm just spoiled by the Scotts. IMO dampers should come stock on ALL the 600's as well, not just the liter bikes.
Oh what's the whole waffle thing? Been away from the board for a while, what the heck is going on with the Busa now??

No they don't have the all black version available in the US
The seat's actually not too bad compared to the Honda, but then almost anything is a step up. Tail's not really all that wide either (to me), though I can see where some people would think that it is, at least from the pics.
ND4SPD & HD- I knew I saw that somewhere before! Except it wasn't on a BMW, still a great idea to incorporate a door opener ( or communicator button ) onto an otherwised un-used button already on the bike. We'll see what happens, not a priority by any means. About the bling thing (chrome & fur), yeah I already got all that from my friends.
This may be going against the SSRA (Suzuki Street Riders of America) but the swingarm will NOT be stretched, and NOTHING is getting chromed!! Oh yeah and no xenon, super plasma, ultra-sonic HID lights or anything either!
This was all about me getting the best bike for me, fit and performance wise. I just wanted the best that this model year had to offer since I don't trade bikes all that often (except for the short stint on the 929, I like to keep *new* bikes for at least 5 years). Hell the R1 would still be in the garage if I didn't pull that stupid crap last year. |

As of yet I still have no idea of what 160 +/- HP feels like, probably gonna pucker up real good the first time I crack it WOT. I love the twisties and this year will be my first appearance on the track (still contemplating Grattan, moving in to the new house next month is the only reason I haven't commited yet).
Honestly, since I do love the curves I'm not sure all that horsepower is really needed, may have gone a little overboard but I gotta admit, it's nice to have it "on tap". |

As for the Gixxer, it's cool, no doubt about it. Be careful. I'd imagine the margin for error on that machine is precariously small.

P.S. Hey gang, isn't nice having so many Suzuki guys in da houzzzzz? |

Hey aren't you the one that everyone wants to see a pic of naked or scantily clad? IF so this would be a great thread to do that in |

EDIT: Oops, forgot to offer you my congrats, Scratch. CONGRATS, your new bike looks awesome! | Thanks Pete! I find myself sneaking off into the garage late at night to stare at it, still can't believe I bought the f'ing thing. It rides very nice at tame speeds, hope she does the same when I kick it up a notch. |

Yeah my driveway is gravel I share it with an excavating company (in back). The plus side is that there's lots of potholes too, I make an interesting weaving pattern everytime I come home and pull into the garage. Luckily no nails though (knocks on wood). |

Oh and to touch on the whole exhaust issue. Call me crazy but it really doesn't bother me, actually kind of like it! Compared to the stock exhausts of all the other bikes I've seen at the dealership (bazooka's) this one doesn't seem or sound half bad. I'm sure I'll ditch it eventually but for now it's not tops on my list. Crash protectors, windscreen and a damper upgrade are the only things I'm looking at in the near future. Of course I've been known to get carried away (ala chain) |

Not sure on that one, haven't owned a new bike in some time.
Kidder-
The only other bike that caught my eye was the '04 Mladin edition, very nice |

The yosh exhuast definately cleans it up. http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/05%20800...0ss/corner.jpg
And yes, the gixxer forums utterly suck major arse.
I'll pray for good weather for us all.
