It’s pretty evident Honda is not producing the bikes people want to see/ride as everyone on the board it buying everything BUT a Honda. | You think? Number one selling sport bike in Australia last year was the CBR1000RR. Surprised me too. More surprising was that I haven't noticed it to be as widely discounted as the opposition - the ZX10R was going almost $2000 off really early (although the words 'match that price' came out of my mouth when purchasing my Blade). |

They certainly loved the 05 G1K surprisingly though they dynoed it at about 158hp - the 10R came in at about 163 and the CBR1000 at 152. I was expecting the GSXR to top the dynos (ok with the possible exception of the MV) and certainly have a bigger gap over the CBR. I'm just wondering how the hell to shrink myself a bit. The way these things are getting smaller in a few years I'll have to retire to a sport tourer that I can fit on..... |

And yes, the gixxer forums utterly suck major arse.
I'll pray for good weather for us all.

Hey man how you doin? I can totally understand your sentiments on the looks dept. First few times I saw it I didn't know what to make of it, but it grew on me like some kinda fungus. I love that shorty Yosh can and hopefully will get a slip-on (TRC, not TRS) sometime soon after the other mods.
The only bad thing is that the exhaust valve is in the actual slip-on, not headers like the other bikes. So when you lose the stock can, you actually lose some of that bottom end (not that it matters, thing should be a beast regardless).
It would be nice to get some warm weather, since it's almost frickin' MAY! Can't believe how nasty it's been. |

Did you trade the 929? | Hey RP,
No I didn't trade the 929, still in the garage. Waiting for my "fast" title transfer that I paid extra for. Was supposed to be 3 weeks but it's going on 6 and still no title!! I didn't want to take a bath at the dealership, I knew they were going to lowball me like crazy so I just saved myself the aggravation and decided to sell it outright once I get (whenever that will be?) the title.
Good to know on the comparo's, I haven't read any myself. I only read some of the preliminary reports that were out and that was enough. Once I sat on it all the evals didn't matter much. I know it will be fast, I know it will handle well and it fit just right, figured I couldn't go wrong.
The thing that trips me out about the bike is the black-chrome fork tubes, that's what always catches my eye for some reason, looks pretty sweet |

The ZX-10 looks GREAT to me, but FWIW, I also own a '98 'zook Bandit-12, so I'm not really hating on Suzuki, and they are some f-in fast, smooth shifting machines.
Warthog - The 929 and 954's outsold the competition 'overseas' during their time, though they were underpowered due to the others. |

I noticed the dramatic price drop on the 10's as well, Cool looking bike & powerful, just wonder about the reliability factor... Not that Suzuki's known for exceptional quality but parts are plentiful
The CBR's are alive and doing well in my neck of the woods. Every other bike is a 600rr or 1000rr, and man do they look good rollin'! |

Crazy...
Bandit 1200's are comfortable and fast rides, one of these days I should get a naked bike and save my back. Oh yeah plenty of 900's, 929's, 954's, and F4's rolling around here too. So the Honda's do hold up exceptionally well over time. Lots of brand loyalty here locally. I've yet to meet anyone in my area complaining about the 929 or the 954, everyone is extremely satisfied w/ those bikes. |

Thanks man I feel the same way. This being my first black bike, it's amazing how many little scratches and swirly marks you see. Might be a pain in the ass to keep clean but oh well, the sacrifices we make |

I don't find the stock muffler looks that bad. It's a muffler, it's not there to look good, it's there to work well, develop power without compromising the bike's aerodynamics.
I also have a GSXR (600). Great bikes, never had a problem.
enjoy the new ride.... |

I didn't think those were available yet for the "general market"? | Its one of Aaron Yate's SBs---picture was taken at the Dunlop tire tests at INfineon last Jan--I would highly doubt that anyone could get there hands on several pieces of that bike
BTW---I have heard nothing but really good things about the K5 GSXR1 as a racebike. Should be interseting this year in AFM as 2/3 fatest guys are on 1000RRs, the other is on a K5 GSXR1---nobody close in on a ZX-10R or R1

Originally Posted by Trackho Heres a closer pic of Yates pipe--its a Yosh--and I was wrong--this bike was his SuperStock version | That's perfect! Exactly what I want for my bike. Very cool, superstock means that I might get something very similar to what's pictured above. Great pic btw. I wonder if it will be available in a full system only or if I'll be able to snag a slip on?
This will be my first year on the track so that's re-assuring to hear. The way I see it, this bike will either make up for or highlight my flaws as a rider. My mission, should I choose to accept it , is to bring the bike and myself home in one piece.
Hearing about the bike's great handling characteristics does make me feel better about my purchase. I just wish work and weather would have cooperated and let me ride a little more this week. Really looking forward to this weekend |
