| corbin not really that comfortable?! I just got my Corbin in, (won it on ebay) installed it last night but kind of half-assed because the bolts wouldn’t align right so it looks like I have to adjust the support bar. First impressions... little more elevated off the ground which doesn’t make feel very comfortable, makes the bike seem too big. im used to putting my nuts against the tank (i like the buzzy feel at a certain rmp ) but with this new seat on i have to sit back slightly which i think is correct ergonomics but just doesn’t feel comfortable. the seat is not as cushy as I assumed it would be, feels more like a horse saddle (width) then bike seat... have any of you experienced the same thing? Anybody ever switch back to stock?

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! Corbin seats aren't supposed to be "cushy", they're firm and formed to give you comfort. If you want cushy, try a Sargent.
(And yep, they're formed to keep you away from the tank.) |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! Never had a Corbin, but I love the Sergeant I have on my 954. Wouldn't call is cushy, but maybe it is compared to a Corbin. Can’t imagine what a seat worse then the stock one would feel like since the stock one was horrible. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! If you're riding a short distance, stick with the stock saddle. Corbins are meant to be used for the long haul. They feel weird at first, but they quickly grow on you. Conq is right, they are supposed to keep your noogies away from the tank, so no more riding the bike at 80 KMs / HR in 1st gear cause it feels nice!!!
Also, they are useless at the track, or any place you want to get yer arse out of the seat. They kind of lock you in place. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! I'll never buy a Corbin again. Corbin said it would break in after 1500 miles, never did IMO, stayed as hard as a rock. But it did keep me from slamming my balls into the tank. Which is a very good thing. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! No, the Corbins never do get softer - and yes, the stock seat is horrible. If you've only ridden Hondas, try a Gixxer or a Yamaha sometime. Honda should take some lessons from the guys who know how to do it right...
[EDIT: I should add that as hard as the Corbin was, I much preferred it (versus the stock seat) for anything other than track duty.]

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! Had a corbin on my fzr 1000 and hated it I'm short on the inseam and they are wide found that at a stoplight it would splay my legs too wide and very uncomfortable went back to stock never had a problem since Corbin= |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! Corbin's hurt when your feet are on the ground, they are meant to be comfy when you are riding giving more support all around. The foam will break in over time and form to your personal ass, usually. I've had two and so far I'm pleased with the overall product. Their service sucks so if you can pick one up anywhere other than Corbin, you're better off. I do swap to the stocker for track days however. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! I ordered my Corbin directly from the factory and I recall them asking me some of my dimensions like my pants inseam length so they could tailor the sides of the saddle not to "bite" my inner thigh. My experience is yes it did take a long time to break in (and I'm a heavy guy at 205 LBS). It doesn't "lock me in" but there is a definite feeling that the saddle coaxes you to sit further back. It is on the firm side and I can move around on mine quite easily when leaning for NON-TRACK sweepers and such. I've never been on a track so I have no idea how it would fare there. I also regulary use a leather cleaner/coniditioner on it which reduces the surface friction of the leather and make it easier to move around on the seat. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! Keep in mind that Corbin can customize any saddle. On my last bike, I took the demo for a ride around town and asked if they could move the seating position forward and inch and they did at no charge. It did take 3 months to get it however but it fit like a glove. I had ridden another identical bike of a friends with the same work done and it fit me better than the stock positioning. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! I loved the Sergent I had on my RC. It locked me in, and was still easy to move in during the twisties. I would recommend the Sergent time and time again. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! well just like anything else i guess it will get better with time... after riding on it ALL weekend, i'm feeling more comfortable on it but that hump is still a problem. i also attempted to install a gel insert into the stocker but i think i removed too much foam so now its a bit lumpy. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! I have the Sargent on my 954, very comfortable. I recommend it, though if anyone orders it make sure you get it without the colored side welts over the seams. I had Sargent send me a new seat cover due to the welts digging into my legs . I suppose the welts would be OK on other models, but on the 954 they don't work. |

| Re: corbin not really that comfortable?! I had a custom corbin (less padding to make it shorter) that I got off ebay over the winter. Tried it for a couple weeks and it was more like riding on a piece of wood than the stock seat. For the inseam challenged like me it sucked when stopped because of how wide it was and sucked when riding because of how wide it is and the angle of my legs to the pegs (might have been better if I had rear sets that go up higher). I couldn't sit back in teh seat like its made for because I also have short arms and of course still need ot reach the bars and I don't wanna be in a full crouch all the time just to reach the bars. but I sold it after a couple weeks for a substantial loss ($85). I hated it so I didn't want it around collecting dust.
