EXACTLY

just that one little change of the straight edge from the upper cowl to the bottom, to the curved one made a HUGE difference in appearance. Now the 1000rr looks good!!

even the yellow/blue one!!!

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

Ah hem. Am I disapointed? Yes. I wanted to see Honda do something cool. I guess they did w/ the GoldWing. That thing looks sick! But the 1000rr sucks, and the "new" VFR is a let down.

Oh well. For the record, I called it. All of this mass disapointment that is.

HD

EDIT: Oh, and now Miggy and Jake will continue to suck. Man that pissed me off.

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

I was really, really hoping for a new VFR that would push all my buttons (like my old '95 that I now regret selling) and that ain't it. Looks just like last year's, and no red? I'm thinking a big WTF. Maybe just as well. I won't go in debt deeper next year.

And I'm pissed they won't give us a street legal Dream 50 or better yet 100. Those Honda execs. I hate them so much.

WHO THE F**K is in charge of the graphics design department? They should be fired. That 1000RR looks like in some of those colors. The 600RR in Orange is sweet, minus the tribal flames. I'd hook it up with some regular wings ASAP.

No color matched swingarms..WTF. That alone makes me not want one of the 1kRR's.... .

Nice to see they went with bigger front rotors as well.

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

Gauging these responses from Honda-ites, looks like a reasonable buy in 2008 for a 2006 w/ 0 miles, and $2000 + off MSRP. I'm starting to save now

I can't pass up a great deal...

...and I got a definate "Rossi" impression from the Blue and Yellow one. Honda probably made a big purchase on the paint before the defection.

Personally, I like the looks of the 1000RR alot...especially the blue and yellow! If it was on the 600RR I'd definitely be considering an 06 600RR.

Let the commence.

And my bike will still look better, have more HP and be lighter than Honda's 600 no matter what you say.

Additional Features
- Convenient push-to-cancel turn signal switch.

If you have to list this as a feature, you haven't done anything worthwhile. I may have to get in touch with TrackHo's contact next year and get me a real RR.

The more I look at the 1000RR it just not appealing to me. So that takes the 1000RR and Kawi off my list of liter bikes. Leaves Suzuki and Yamaha. Sorry Honda, you did it to yourself.

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

FOr a 2-year update I think they've made some great changes. I think this bike will surprise a lot of the naysayers when the next round of comparos hit the newsstands.

Revised intake ports, new intake valves and springs, new ram-air, new cams, higher redline, more compression. I think that will all amount to a pretty substantial increase in performance. Throw in the reduced weight and chassis tweaks and it should amount to a pretty nice package.

Win on Sunday / sell on Monday really does work. If Honda still had factory support in AMA and were still dominant would everyone still pile on the slow heavy CBR? Doubt it.

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

I don't think the changes are enough to make it compete with the gsxr1000, atleast in the AMA, in WSBK take away Corser and its right there.

I actually like the blue/yellow paint scheme a lot.
I hate the orange on the 600 though. But maybe as was said it might look better with regular black wings. I never liked the F4 in orange and black though so I doubt it.

Re: 2006 Honda Models From HondaNews.com!

I just like the look of the 04-05 better. While I'm sure it's improvements will help it in the long run, the looks just don't seem right. I hope it's performance and weight issues that have been dealt with will gain the bike a bit more "respect" from the onther brands riders.

Are you talking about the 2006 YZF-R6S? That bike is essentially an '05 R6. Yamaha is going with the two 600 game as well.
I see that the new YZF-R6 isn't on the page yet. Probably have an assload of '05s to get rid of before showing the '06 on their website.
