| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Yep. The guy at where ever told me I was lucky to get it. Had 6 preordered at that store, and only got 8 copies. I got it at 11:30am when I went to lunch.
BTW, the game is awesome. Has a little bit of a learning curve, ala GT4, but if you brake early, you're golden.
Bikes really handle differently, went from a 600RR to a comparitively twitchy 636 and promptly ran off the INSIDE of a corner... good fun! The on-bike view is the only way to play this game. It's good, man, real good. Way better than Riding Spirits, etc. Controls surprisingly good with the analog stick. Part of me can't believe they got it this right. |

I'll probably pick up a copy tomorrow... don't want to get too behind.
This thread could easily go to 400. |

As filmed by me, quickly with a digital camera in the dark on my HDTV. Sorry about the quality of the cam, but I was too busy playing to hook up my D8 and firewire, etc. |

It washes out a little bit in the middle, but comes back after a few turns when the light is right. On the actual TV you can see the tach at pretty much all times.
BTW, that clip is of me trying to win the 600RR I'm riding by finishing ahead of that R6. You have two laps to either finish first or get ahead and stay ahead for 10 seconds. I 10-sec'ed him two tries later. |

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] You start with a scooter, but I haven't ran a single "race" and I have a 600RR.
I had to pass Novice license, which helped a lot with the learning curve and was a lot of fun. That opens up the "N" bikes in "Challenge" mode. Then you pick the bike you want, pick the colors you want, then if you complete the challenge, you get the bike! |

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Got my copy. Just think GT4 on bikes. Pretty easy to ride, There is a definite learning curve over GT4, but in my oppinion it blows the Moto GP Games out of the water. I just wish they had the Moto GP tracks. I have all silver medals in three of my licenses and I haven't tried the fourth yet. Arcade mode is nice but kinda hard to win. I haven't won a damn thing with this shitty 250 scooter that I have in simulation mode. HELP!!!! |

I'm racing that damned scooter! | Oh believe me, that 600RR is useless to me right now. I can't handle it at WOT on a new track. There's just too much high speed drama and I'm not used to it. The straightaway at grand valley bouncing off the limiter in 6th is pretty ridiculous! I want some old school goodness! Bring on the '80's standards!!! |
