So does the half mile after that. That hard left into the tunnel is what usually trips up most folks.
Can't wait to get home now!

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Cool game. I like how you can tweak the riding style. I was trying to win the GSXR750 and it was so friggin unstable turning on the brakes... took me like 10 tries to win it. Then I watched the replay and realized I was still in motard riding style (from testing out me DRZSM) It looked friggin hilarious. |

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Haven't tried it, but I suppose you set the controls to "Pro Mode", then pull back on the LEFT analog stick (the one you normally use for turning) and it should happen on a powerfull bike.
Using the left analog in Pro Mode allows you to tuck, sit up, etc. Try it and let me know...
Otherwise, I'll check it this weekend. |

Don't forget to change your riding style from "simulated" to "real".

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Anyone else find that the engine noises aren't super accurate? The 2-smokers sound a little whinier but not nearly true to life. The V-twins don't sound super bassy either. I think that might be my only complaint of the game.
I made the whole motard riding style on a race spec GSXR1000 mistake also. It's hilarious! Worth doing just to see the playback! It makes you almost embarassed for the guy.
I think the hand positions on the bikes are cool, when it shows you using the clutch and blipping the throttle! I really like the head shake too when you go over a hill crest hard on the gas. Also, they run the same Infineon Raceway configuration that the AFM uses. I was on a CB750F and got within 2 seconds of my actual race time. I'm sure I will easily surpass that soon but it was still fun to compare. They don't use the AMA turn 1 for Infineon.
So far I have all the licenses but only a couple bikes. My thumb hurts!
Looks like there are 92 bikes available in the "challenge" mode so I guess you get the rest of them by winning races? |

In the game if you're running wide you can tighten your line by jamming the rear brake.... Don't think I'll be doing too much of that in real life. |

| Re: Tourist Trophy! [PS2] Yesh, for wheelies and stoppies, switch to pro mode. also, for drifting around corners, switch to pro mode. damn, whole new riding experience.
hehe. I set the gear ratio to like 2.3xx so my top end in the 954 would be like 200+ mph, and hit nurimburg. well, i only needed first and second gear for most of the course, except for the straightaway. the headshake when i hit that crest tossed the rider like half the course! hilarious.
Also, yeah, 93 bikes in challenge mode, but you win a bike after every gold race. SEW, i just started winning races. i have like, 2 MV Agusta F4's now, and that's also how you get the 02 954rr, plus some other old bikes that are pretty slick.
play around with that gearing though. I was able to stomp a 1000rr with my 600rr.
And yes, i did the motard thing too. does look funny. hehe. |
