Honestly, I'd like to know. First of all, I'll admit that I dislike Buells. I've spent some time on an XB12s and come away thinking the only reason you'd buy one is b/c you wanted a "sport-bike" and thought that it mattered that somewhere way down the line it had a little Harley in it. Very heavy low-speed steering, poor shifter, awkward high-speed steering, power is OK. I also think the fit and finish is second-rate.
I've always felt that Buell is about innovation for innovation's sake, not necessarily b/c it improves the machine or it's performance. Buell now has a "dual-sport," the Ulysses. In all of the comparisons and reviews, I have yet to see someone point out that a a belt final-drive is a poor choice for a bike that will theoretically see dirt, rocks, and mud.
Someone please tell me what it is that I don't see.
