| Brake Marker Placement? I am wondering what the spacing is on brake markers at the track?
For those that are going I am trying to figure some maximum accelerations for my computer. I figure hard front braking is likely the most G's a bike pulls. Given the distance I can guestimate the maximum I will generate by calculating speed change vs braking distance (yes I missing time I know).

Sheeply, you're trying too hard. There is no standard followed by motorcycle tracks. Spacing and location can change depending on the mood of the cornerworker that day. They can be moved during the day.
Never, ever try to calculate something based on spacing as a given, it's a good way to end up on your head.
Hard on the brakes I went go over 1.2 G's. |

| Re: Brake Marker Placement? 2G sensor is enough as long as you don't hit anything.
It's an integrated G-force/tilt sensor that comes with my data aq.
They are incredibly fragile. I had 2 die on me. |

| Re: Brake Marker Placement? It's just a dx/dt calc. Your sensor should have the calibration curve. |

Originally Posted by luvtolean It's just a dx/dt calc. Your sensor should have the calibration curve. | Actually it outputs a signal that I can run into my a/d converter and log. The calculation I am referencing is what I am going to do with it. I am thinking lean for sure but considering a poor sheep's IMU so I can calculate track position and lean (maybe cross correlated with GPS). Just trying to think it through then let it sink into my thick skull some kind of a measure twice cut once thing. Still plotting though and trying to figure what sensors I want then $ and placement and programming. Of course then I will have to make my app on the Mac to download, compute, plot, predict or in general crunch the data gathered. Guaranteed to keep the wool busy for a long time to come.

| Re: Brake Marker Placement? The markers are only good for reference from your last lap. Not only do they sometimes move or get hit, on a few turns you can brake after all the markers have gone by. |
