| Tomahawk Tires Since there is no tires section in the general discussion area I figured I'd post here. This past weekend a group from Tucson came out to the track and two guys had Tomahawk Tires. One was an 03 ZX-6R and the other an 05 ZX-10R. They had the race compounds #2's. They seemed to hold up pretty well and both of them liked how they ran. The big question of the day was what tire pressure to run in them. I'm not sure what they figured it out to be but they worked. I think they said they paid $135 for the SET!!!! Myabe it's just me but for a trackday tire with a race compound you can't beat that. I really wanted to see some of the "faster" guys run them to see what they thought. Anyone here know others who have used them? I was asking for feedback but these guys really had no idea. |

| Re: Tomahawk Tires I'm betting it's a Chinese tire.
Since a tire failure can really make someone have a bad day, I guess for now I'll let others try them. I'm not a big believer that much of anything out of China is high quality.
If it's Korean...we'll they're doing great in cage tires, so maybe it'd be worth talking about.
MC tires are hideously overpriced, nice to see someone come in charging a more reasonable price. |

The advances in rubber for bikes is impressive and costs $$$ Also I remember when Goodyear made Eagles for dirt tracking, expensive but all the bigger bikes ran them until discontinued. The reason quality not cost.

| Re: Tomahawk Tires Believe the champ of one of the 600 classes in AFM the year before last ran the front or rear slick and was a tire tester for tomahawk. If you do a search on BARF you can see some feedback on them. Think the biggest problem I've seen is they have a recurring problem of being out of round.... |

I think I'll stick with something a bit more conventional. |

| Re: Tomahawk Tires The new Sport Rider mag has a big tire test and they're in it. They are the street tires and they got only average marks. However, I wouldn't worry about them (their safety) on the street unless you're really fast. |

| Re: Tomahawk Tires I could be going out on a limb here, but I don't know that I'd trust the opinion of a guy that rides a 10R at the track and has body position and a riding style that is illustrated in pic 1... I just don't know that I'd be 100% trusting of his opinion on race compound tires... |
