| Disconnect Limiter Hi all,
I want to know how to disconnect the speed limiter on a 1999 VTR SP2 Honda Fireblade. It seems that the limiter works on the speedometer rather than the rev counter because the bike can rev to max in lower gears. The bike was imported from Japan and cuts out at 190km/h. Drawings etc are welcome.
Regards. |

| Re: Disconnect Limiter At 190km/h the bike's motor softly dies out without losing much momentum. When the throttle is then closed slightly the bike resumes normal riding as before. |

| Re: Disconnect Limiter just seems wierd for it to be limited to 190 kph when our bikes are supposedly limited to 187 mph which is a whole hell of alot faster.

| Re: Disconnect Limiter What RPMs are you hitting at 190kph (118mph)? Are you maybe hitting the soft rev limiter when going over 9500 rpm? |

| Re: Disconnect Limiter we have some of those "speed restricted bikes" here in the philippines (the ones imported from japan) i've seen some (954, X4, RC51, CB1300-- that can go only up to 180kph) and there is a gadget that you can connect to the bike (some sort of a relay) that will de-restrict the bike speed. |
