And it would seem to me that the cage driver is who lacks good judgement. Arnold is a recreational rider, to be sure, but he's not a newb to the two wheel world. |

OHHHH but it gets better, motorcycles with sidecars are not consider motorcycles in the state of California. They are three wheeled vehicles. |

| Re: Ahnold crashes The problem is that he couldn't handle his tricycle. No cycle endorsement? He must not really ride then. The other guy was legally wrong, but you know how much that matters when you're munched up. That is was low speed tells me better skills and judgement might have saved him. That he has no endorsement tells me that he's had no training, and not much experience. Too bad for him. |

Too bad for him. | Well, regardless of his qualifications, you seem to be saying that he needs to beready to avoid any possible impact, independent from another driver's actions, no matter how imprudent. The fact that he has no motorcycle endorsement was brought up, even though the configuration (w/sidecar) does not require one.
If you consider all that, and then realize how many of the .Org membership has semi-recently crashed, most of whom have endorsements, track days, years of experience, etc. then aren't you also implying that we are not really "making the grade" because we weren't able to predict and avoid the collision with another vehicle or other inanimate object?
I only propose this scenario because Arnold is the victim of the same type of crash many of us have experienced, yet it seems that you are implying that he's unskilled for not being able to avoid the car, yet when it's one of us, with all of our training and experience, the rant is about the damn cage driver who's not paying attention for whatever reason. Just my observation. |

| Re: Ahnold crashes Yes. I am implying that we are responsible for our own safety, no matter how badly others are driving. I believe that is how you have to think to survive. No excuses. When you are on a bike, even in a car, but more so on a bike, you need to be ready to avoid all possible impacts, your fault or not. I know it can't be done perfectly, but that is the standard. If you can't meet this extremely high standard, in time, you will get munched |

From what I was reading in this thread it just seemed that as far as Arnold was concerned, he was being characterized as being hopelessly inept as a rider since he had a crash, and the rest of us here at the .Org are victims of inattentive drivers because we're all so skilled and experienced. Sounded like a double standard was being applied. |

| Re: Ahnold crashes What I want to see is his damn "trike" impounded, like they would have done to any sportbiker here in San Diego who got nailed in a wreck with no M1 endorsement.
Also, regarding the helmet and anonymity, he had CHP officers with him... http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/10/sch....ap/index.html
so guess he doesn't have to worry about people trying to mob him while he rides. |

He's going to be doing cosmetic surgery I'm guessing...pretty nasty. Looks like all the teeth are there though, it certainly could've been lots worse. |
