| Need some stats on crashes. Ok, reaching out to the .orgers for a bit of help. I need some links to sites with stats dealing with motorcycle crashes. Main concern being it has info on helmets vs. no helmets(injuries/deaths). Nation wide is fine. TIA. |

| Re: Need some stats on crashes. It's a bit old, but google the HURT report.
edit:
Here ya go: http://www.clarity.net/~adam/hurt-report.html
I think this is probably the most comprehensive study ever done. |

| Re: Need some stats on crashes. Here's an interesting fact I just found. Mean engine size involved in a fatal crash has steadily increased from 820 cc in 1993 to 999 cc in 2002.
Now I wonder why that is......damn liter bikes. |

| Re: Need some stats on crashes. Lots of ways to interpret that. Is it because people can't handle the litre bikes, or just because litre bikes are more common? |

I believe that article even said sportbike wrecks have remained fairly constant.
This sounds like the discussion I had with my Mom when I bought my first street bike. |

| Re: Need some stats on crashes. FYI, the largest growing segment of fatalities is the over 40 crowd with 1000+cc motorcycles. AKA the empty nester who had to 'give it up' because he got married and had a family. They make their $$ and bought the biggest baddest luxo-chopper-tourer and kill themselves on it. |
