| Pinks - Would you do it? Bike or Car. Would you race for pink slips?
p.s. I went to find where to put this thread and:
A. There are too many forums, and
B. It says DON'T put anything relate to mc's in off-topic. Okay.
Moderators put this in any of the 27 dozen forums that you think are appropriate.
It got moved. But I saw several "pink" races in real life, long, long before it was on TV. That's why I didn't put it there in the first place.

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? I put it in movies/television.
I've had some money down on grudge matches, but not my ride. I've been present for multi-thousand dollar street races too. But never for pinks, and on the street I wouldn't do it. I think you very well might end up looking down the barrel of a gun.
For some reason, I seriously doubt the loser of that show ends up broke/no car without compensation. |

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? The only way I would do it would be if I was a sure winner. In that case - not at all.
I'm a drag racer. I'll be at the track this Thursday, as well as every Thursday throughout the season. It costs waaaaaaay too much money to put together a competitive vehicle.
I will race ya for money though. You lay it on the table and I'll work for it. I might have to run you again next week to win, but that's the only way I'll run - no pinkslips here. |

Ya see, I got this 1970 something VistaCruiser that is rich in iron oxide deposits that I cannot give away. So if someone beat me, I don't have to pay a tow or recycling fees.
Where's registration? |

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? My biggest complaint with that show is the host. He manipulates the negotiations way too much. Oh yeah... I don't think I would gamble my ride like that. |

I really did see some BIG pink races. Once between twin brothers that I thought was going to end in murder.
Someone neutral ALWAYS held the titles or equivalent money.
I did it once in my vette against a smart-mouthed Porsche 911 jerk. It was a road-race and I didn't take his car. I made my point. |

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? It seems like most of the guys racing on the show are from shops that build cars. When they lose one they just go back and build another one. In that respect I don't think it's the same as racing your baby. It would still suck to watch someone else drive away with your car that you put so much time and money into. |

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? Thats what it seems. Most guys have the $$ and the car to give away if they have to. But then again plenty of people race for pinks on the street...it just wouldnt be me...I get too attached to my vehicles. |

| Re: Pinks - Would you do it? I'm freinds with the guys from Full Race that will be on in a few weeks. They lost the Pink SOHC Civic they built for the show. They had a problem keeping their 800hp toy in a straight line. They fixed the car and the guys that won the car brought it to Full Race to fix so they can run it the rest of the year. |

Now the whole time I'm watching I'll be waiting on the girlie Civic to lose |

Just not the way they do it.
Head to Head!
]No damn car lengths, No NOS,
Straight up motor to motor in a COMPLETELY STREET LEGAL CAR!
That was how I got the 79 Z28 I had for a week. |

That was how I got the 79 Z28 I had for a week. | Just get a car and pass it around the racers. Eventually you'll get it back.
I'd hate to see something I had placed so much into mean nothing to someone else.
Maybe that's why I rarely sell my cars and bikes. |

Maybe that's why I rarely sell my cars and bikes. | I did sell it back to the guy I won it from for 500 bucks.
He was happy. My Monte CarloSS was faster anyway. |
