The only thing they cannot do is to use exactly same design as in GP bike. For example they can have a V5 sreet bike with exactly same displacement as RC211V as long as exactly same design/parts are not used. Harris-WCM got into trouble (and their engines were banned for a period of time until the design was changed) in GP by directly copying something from Yammie R1. Today we have unit-pro link suspension in RR Honda's that originates from RCV, perfectly legal as long as the exactly same or too close a design is not used. Yammie R1 is a litre I4 and so M1, are they breaking rules... |
