| Re: Advantages & disadvantages of a steering damper. CJ- I'm not sure what you're asking, but yes, if you have a damper you should leave it on.
If the damper is working correctly, and the fluid isn't gummed up, or leaking, it shouldn't impede the normal tension of you turning your handlebars back and forth for the street.
If you're using it on the track - well, I don't have any personal experience there. You'll have to sort that out for yourself.
If you're using it at the strip, I'm sure you can adjust it for more tension, as you won't be negotiating any turns, and you'll be settling that front tire down after the start.
