About a year and a half ago I bought this nice Alpinestar leather jacket. Six months later it came in handy when I low sided my GSX-R trying to dodge a car that "didn't see me". There's a nice scrape on the left arm of that jacket, and it reminds everytime how lucky I was to have had it on. I could have really messed my arm up with that. Not to mention my head hit the car as well so I was glad I like to wear my helmet to. On the average I wear riding boots, jeans, t-shirt and/or my jacket, gloves, and helmet.
I'm as guilty as you are Metal - I will say this: I ALWAYS ride with a MINIMUM of helmet, gloves, LONG jeans, and my ventilated riding jacket. If I am only going a very short distance - I will skip the jacket and just wear my short sleeve shirt. But that is rare - I also wear my steel-toed boots at a MINIMUM. I wear my real riding boots on longer runs or if I'm not commuting to work.

Watched a bit of this for the first time today....

As he's touring the Barber museum, and they get to the GSXR1000

"This thing was like, the ultimate stuntbike when it came out... you could do like, 100 miles per hour down the highway on the back wheel...."

Re: SuperBikes! -- not the show I'd like to see

Okay, well I'm a little slow. Last night was my first time watching it... Slightly entertaining. They did have some pretty nice looking rides! However at the end it definately left me feeling like "Was that it?"

2 Favorite Parts

1. When the host asks the girl, with helmet and jacket and just got off a
bike... "So you actually ride?"

I wish we had more chicks ride around here

2. At the drag strip, the guy on the Busa burns out, takes off for about 5-10
yards, then dumps his bike!

I think I laughed until milk came out my nose...

I think there was way to much "awww hell naw, look at that crazy mofo"

Overall it was an MEDIOCRE show if you already have an idea what motorcycling is about, but it's a terrbile influence on everone else!

Re: SuperBikes! -- not the show I'd like to see

I finally saw it. I don't know what the big deal is. It's not like the public doesn't already know that there's squids out there.

I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Got to see Deals Gap footage, that's awesome (never been there).

The dude with the thong riding the Gap.....

I watched it for the first time last night, I can not believe the amount of $$$ that are spent on these Drag Busas and ZX-12/14s.

Yeah, for real, out of all the cool stuff at the barber museum... The 2003 gsxr1000 caught his attention and got the big response. Wow, that's glorification at it's best... Maybe it's just the editors putting out there what they want seen and jason reacted to the REALLY cool bikes there and it didn't make the show.

I was sincerely confused and disappointed at that point...

And yeah, the guy who was "the pro" dumping that busa at the drag strip doing his warm up burnout was AWESOME!!!!

Re: SuperBikes! -- not the show I'd like to see

The show is like a bad car accident-you know its ugly and pretty stupid but you still have to watch-proabaly so we can bitch about how much we really hate this show-Well anyway between watching the weatherscan channel and Superbikes-I saw more hooliganism, and a poor attempt at drag racing-this guy should be castrated for having "Rossi" in his name. Now the stretched Busa's and the "14's" as apparently these are called were OK-if you are into spending too much money on a bike that does not turn then again there arent too many twisty roads in south florida. I hope they start a trend so I can expect by sportbike to apprciate in value like a harley. The only material I like lately was the episode with Roland Sands-trying to brigde the gap between cruisers and sportbikes.

Yea that was pretty funny when that guy dropped his bike. A guy did that right in front of me when I went to the local drag strip. I think I would punch myself in the nuts if I did that.

That show DID NOT represent the East Coast at all. Bro, I live on the East Coast. So does TraumaOne, ConqSoft, Sheep of Blue, and many many more. I would bet they would agree with me there.

That episode embarrassed me as a motorcyclist. How dare anyone represent me that way !!!!
