Two Brits at Deals Gap

Hi, you might remember us Brits, we met some of you at Grattan in 2002.

A very kind member of this board loaned us two sports bikes, an R1 for lil ole me and a Triumph 955 for hubby, and he and his Mrs came touring with us.

So we went and did your very famous Deals Gap and Cherahola Skyway, plus other mountain roads in the area. My favourite was probably the Bue Ridge Parkway between Maggie Valley and Asheville. But it was all awesome. We were there mid week so the lack of police made a welcome change from the UK and we loved the roads, serious hooligan time

A couple of pics.

Re: Two Brits at Deals Gap

Welcome back, Doc! Glad you were able to sample some of our twisties. Too bad you couldn't have scheduled your visit 3 weeks earlier and joined us again at Grattan.

I know, I thought of that but it had to coincide with a conference for work so I was stuck for dates.

But it was a great fantastic road trip and we won't forget it in a hurry!

I love riding in mainland Europe and do a lot of it but this was special. This photo will remind me why.

I'm glad you had a good time. Thank you for sharing.

But, you know, using our beautiful curving highways at appropriate tempo for your vehicle is NOT "hooligan time" here in the colonies. It is our god given right. See why we revolted?
