Neither can I.

Seriously, it is hard to describe, but yes - driving certain cars at legal and mostly-legal speeds absolutely CAN be thrilling.
Phoube had a bit of a taste with the Z06, and I know he was thrilled.
I would rather drive a high end car on the streets every day of every week than ride a sport bike on the streets.

How dare you say such a thing.

Re: Ariel Atom faster than a 600RR??

Sorry I stepped on toes, what did I say?

"Never driven a high end sports car, have you?"
...Yep sure have, grew up competitively rallying (started age 13 on a junior competitive licence), this led to circuit racing cars then back to state level competitive rallying. Sampled many 'high end' 4 wheeled vehicles in and out of their intended environment during this time.
Now riding bikes on road and track for different fun (at a lot less dollars). All are 'fun' when peddled hard enough.
Interesting that midengined cages were mentioned, I find these most similar to bikes in the throttle commitment required at the limit.

Best is still the one having the most fun.

Peace.

my argument is this. Sure they're both fun to drive, they can both go fast and they can both eat corners.
MSRP $1149.00 for a brand spakin new F4i
MSRP $68900.00 for a brand spakin new m3 coupe

i dont know about you folks but that extra decimal place makes me lean a little farther twards the bike. Plus the price of gas...plus the fact that to drive an m3 coupe you need to have a blue tooth headseat glued to your ear, dress like a pompous asshole and drive like you were circuit racing for team Special Olympics.

Not I. Good reason was today there was a car accident, because some dumbass can't drive. WOW thats so rare here!!! Anyway, of course the cops have to block damn near every lane of a 6 lane road at an intersection. To make a long story short... I was in the far left lane trying to make a left hand turn. Well the cops weren't letting me turn and I had no place to go because traffic pretty much stopped. So instead of waiting for however long they had to wait for. Found a gap in my side, which was 3 lanes, and took my nice agile 954 cafefully through a couple lanes and down the road I went. I know a lot of people were pissed about that manuver, but hey I bet they would do the same thing. So I say this too them....

Re: Ariel Atom faster than a 600RR??

It doesn't surprise me that the Atom won - that thing is wicked (AND POWERED BY HONDA!!! not a total loss)

That is my favourite car on Project Gotham 2, and I'd dearly love one to park next to the 954.

I truly think it would take a top tier Moto GP rider to beat that car and that driver on that track.

Z....

No kidding. $1149.00 for a brand-new F4i? Sign me up.
M3 wasn't what I was talking about, but yes good sportscars are expensive.

Yeah, silly.

But fun to watch the bike and the car, especially the video game overlay graphic. And, the bike winning was nice. Both looked like skilled pilots too.

I forgot who posted that vid here before, but I have that one saved to my PC. It is a great video and shows what can be done with a bike when ridden properly.
However, I would love to see someone do an overlay of Schumi and Rossi at any of the tracks both series runs. There would be enough time to hit the fridge and grab your favorite beverage between the time Schumi crosses the line and when Rossi finally comes around.

Take the wings off that F1 car for some real entertainment.

Yep, then take the traction control off the MotoGP bike for similar entertainment.

Without wings it might be close.

I have that one saved on my comp. I had never seen a comparison between a car and motorcycle done like that. It surprised me at how close the race was. Maybe if there were a few less wheelies the bike would have won by a little more. Then again, maybe not... who knows, who cares it was fun to watch!
