Sell or keep and upgrade?

I have a 01 f4i with 14,500 on the clock. she needs a new rear shock, to have the front done, and rearsets.

I ride 80% track when not broke and plan on stepping up.

I think i could get a little over 4k for her. I have had her for a little over a year.

I have been looking at getting a year old (o6) R6 or gsxr600. (rather have the yama.) I would like to pic one up in the 7k range. a race preped one would be a plus.

should i spend the cash to set up the f4i or save the 3k and buy a newer bike with less miles?

I plan on doing this after jan. i would love to pick up a afm or ama setup bike.

thanks,

d

Re: Sell or keep and upgrade?

I think it depends from your riding goals in the track. You can easily follow a 600cc bike of the breed with a well setted-up f4, believe me a have my riding mate doing the same thing. You can follow the 1000cc as well if the track is tight and steep but in the straight its a big drama.
Keep your Honda and gear it according to the tracks you are riding in, invest in a good set of suspenion upgrade and you are ok
cheers s.
