Proper Gear

Ok....I don't normally say much about people who ride without the proper gear as sometimes I cheat.....don't wear my jacket if I'm running up the street to get gas. After seeing these folks - I think I'll wear my jacket if I move my bike from one side of the garage to the other.

Local Riders

Pay particular attention to the passengers. Notice the string top on the one gal on the back of the CBR? Beef jerkey if they go down....

Ask Southpark460 about not wearing gear 'because I was just going to the corner' Avoid pain, if you start your bike have a helmet, jacket, gloves at a MINIMUM

That's evry day here. I can't go anywhere without seeing a spindly armed young'in on this weeks flavored sport bike.

All I do is just shake my head and hope I meet them on the road sometime and am able to talk to them, not using a spatula to "collect" them.

Atleast they all got helmets on. Plus alot of them do have good gear on. I typically see people not even wearing helmets.

Very true, where i live in KY. You are lucky to see helmets. They are adults and to each his own.

If they still have those LP "flushmounts" that I used on my 97 F3, they should not even be considered motorcyclists.

Oh by the way peace, man.

Re: Proper Gear

It strikes me as odd that helmets aren't compulsory everywhere in the US. Here in Oz it's compulsory and 100% compulsory although there's plenty of morons getting around with those skull cap jobs, typically on harleys and the like.

In fact about a year ago I pulled up to a set of lights and beside me pulled a little cruiser, I think it may've been a Virago. Two blokes rider and pillion, rider had a baseball cap on and his pillion had a bandana. I said "where are your helmets boys?" to which the rider let loose a smug ****-eating grin and replied "I'm not wearing one". They took a left at the lights and buggered off, I let them go.

Several months later I was in the same neck of town and saw a group of guys with bikes pulled over on the side of the road. It looked like the crew those boys belonged to, plain baggy clothes, cruisers (with the odd sports 250) and most of them sans helmets.... A bike was on it's side in the gutter and one of them was sitting on the kerb cradling his head madly in his hands and rocking back and forth.

"I'm not wearing one" </****-eating grin>

Yeah but you're wearing it now, pal.

I ride everywhere in full leathers, even the cornershop. My motto is I'd rather sweat than bleed.

Ok Scout....here comes the rant!!!

First of all....are they ACTUALLY glorifying their accidents? What a bunch of sh** heads. IMO they got EVERYTHING they deserved.

Secondly....I like the way they put their "names" on the tank. Like their fu**ing professionals. You would think that a few broken bones would straighten them up.....

Also...... notice the pics of the bike in the garage? Notice the kiddie toys in there? He either lives at home with mama who had a kid late in life or HE is a father who likes to risk his life. I'm sure he has no insurance policy.

Finally - is that would banged up bikes look like? I wouldn't know because I take care of my stuff. Maybe their dads will see these pics and stop paying for their toys.

Wow....thaks for listening.

T-shirts and shorts on street bikes provide an excellent and cheap way to remove those unwanted tattoos. You just need to remember which side to slide on the asphalt.

Anyone else ever go down "naked" on asphalt?
Ouch- I tell ya what.
It makes me cringe everytime I see someone under-dressed.

Being that I don't hang out with kids like this and I don't ride with people who do this - none.

However - you have a VERY valid point. Something to think about.

I don't know about the rest of you guys but # 1 I wouldn't want to be the driver of the Erion, too hard on back in the corners. # 2 I wouldn't want to BE the Erions rear Suspension. Some people belong on Harley's for a reason.
