| illegal drivers in AZ & NM, etc So, I'm confused and wondering if some of you can shed some light on this topic.
I'm at home, in my room browsing online in my boxers , my gf's soaking in the bathtub and I should be in there taking pics, but ok...when I hear out of the TV from about 5 feet away that last year AZ passed a law that a few other states are already implementing. It states that any vehicle thats either unlicenced, or sitting with expired tags/ un insured will be towed and impounded at the owners expense. Okay, so far I am agreeing with this..I own a car that I do not drive, my restored 93 5.0 but I keep insurance and current tags and I garage store it, however people that are storing cars on the side of their homes, in the back yard and on the street are being towed. Again, I agree with this. laws are laws and if states you need to keep your running or non running vehicle insured and or licenced then you need to abide by them, or face fines. I live in a nice area, pay my stupid over priced home owners fee's and like the appearance of the neighborhood to look decent. So, I turn my massaging heated chair towards the screen when I hear what really catches my ears and pissed me off. As you may or may not know AZ has a huge illegal immigrant issue and on the same report this hispanic activist speaks up about how this prevents ILLEGAL's to drive in the state, AND to eventually legalize their cars and them selves and they are fighting this calling it racism.. Wow
I have to follow this law and so should anyone else, right? illegal or not, you are here , follow the damn rules.
I guess I just needed someone else's prospective as to if this sounds completely bunk.
Seriously, this more than frustrates me that not only someone would think this, but to get on live news and complain about it is beyond me.
And on a side note, I am not racist, I equally hate everyone |

Perhaps your chair just isn't comfortable enough? That restored pos in the garage could go a long way to feeding someone, whether or not you think anyone but yourself is worth caring about. |

Those illegals need to stop breakin the laws. I am tired of all those activist hispanics giving my people a bad name. There is no free ride ...they should earn their own way. Insure and register their own cars.... and clear my table and mow my lawn. Heck if they can do it they can run the city... Oh wait Villaragosa is running my city... Good job! Just better not fly any other flag other than this |

He has an American right to own said car in his garage restored or in pieces. It is his car in his garage in his home that he obviously owns because of his reference to HOA fees. If he wants to spend his hard earned money on a car then guess what? He can without worrying about someone starving somewhere. If you want to worry about all the poor people in this world or even this country... then all that money you are spending on Internet connection could ALSO go a long way to feeding someone!
No back to the Subject about illegals...
As a Arizona resident as well, (and closer to the border) It is very frustrating to constantly be worrying about being hit by an uninsured, unlicensed, illegal alien. I am so sick of hearing about thier rights, or about spending govt. money by putting watering stations out in the desert for these people. I think every where there is a watering station should also be a f**king Border Patrol Guard shack with 24 hour coverage. I want to move back east just because of the illegal immigration problem.
If they come into OUR country legally, then Fine whatever, but just because they step foot on our soil gives them no right to our "rights as AMERICAN citizens"
I see Protests all the time about this in the streets of Tucson, about how Mexico is so great and we suck... THEN GO BACK TO MEXICO! If they would fight half as hard at making Mexico better, as they do coming and trying to stay here, Mexico would be a lot better place to live.
A couple months ago all the mexican population here in Tucson, (and probably elsewhere) closed down their businesses or did not show up to work one day to protest and show how much they affected our everyday life and how much they contributed to our society. Well Nothing was different, Our life as we know it did not come to a screeching halt, the economy did not collapse around us, nothing. All that happened was I did not eat Losbetos that day
Sorry for the rant Cornfed but I feel your pain brother! |

| Re: illegal drivers in AZ & NM, etc . I have friends from all over the world that are living here at great expense. they strive to become legal residents instead of on temporary visas that expire and they have to go home with the hope that they can come back if they are granted another visa.
I have been hit by an illegal and the SOB was let go by the CHP! It was in rush hour traffic so the guy couldn't get away. All the CHP said as he drove away was i hope you have uninsured coverage.
I am secound generation Italian and am glad to say my mom went to school and became a US citizen. not that it means much anymore. hell some communities are allowing them to vote. not illigal chinese, iranian, isreali or etc. just mexicans.
I like mexico it is a nice place but very corrupt. If they ever get some integrity in the uppper crest of government the country could prosper. |

What is up with this statement? Is restored, off the street and legally registered to use at any time.
As for the subject at hand, in Cali they will nail you when you go to get it registered again for all the back taxes you owe. Best to keep current. Here is the same way, they will tow it. Bottom line is, as long as it is on private property there is nothing they will do. Roll those POS's on the street, call the cops, have the crap towed. |

| Re: illegal drivers in AZ & NM, etc Yeah, if it is sitting on the side of the street, tow it. If it is on someone's property - side of the house, backyard, etc. they shouldn't have any right to come on the property to take it, period.
The illegal issue - they don't respect anything about the U.S. or our laws, what makes you think they'll start now?
The snuck in illegally, they actively break the law every day, and then they bitch about us wanting to actually uphold the rule of law that the country is based on.
Then they cry about it being racism? They are the most racist of all.
Then the moronic cockwallet comment about comfortable chairs and feeding someone your car? Get a life. If one truly wants to live in comfort in the U.S. they can. The gubmint wastes enough money each year on career welfare recipients. Why should he do the same with his hard earned property? |

. | No license, no insurance, wasnt her car, no hablas ingles... I waited her out until the Sheriffs came and they impounded her car for no lic/insurance. Next time they want to let someone roll ask for them why they are not enforcing the law or to speak to their supervisor. |

My Father came here through Ellis Island with his parents. My Grandfather had to establish a job and household before the rest of the family could come here. They all quickly learned English without being catered to in the written or spoken word when conducting business. They were all Naturalized as citizens. What happened to the immigration laws from then until now?
I have ZERO pity for those who are illegal or who don't want to "get with the program" and truely be an American. Anything else is a BS excuse of a lazy person no matter where he or she came from. |

I guess license2ill wants to keep them hungry.

| Re: illegal drivers in AZ & NM, etc What the ****? They come ON to your property and tow an unlicensed car?
What about race cars? Off highway vehicles? They definitely could come take my 929 race bike too.
I have two cars that have paid registration but no smog certs (and thus no tags), so they sit parked on my property. One in a garage, one out front.
Are you really telling me that the government should be able to come take MY property just because I'm not using it on the road? Lest anyone forget, I am not breaking ANY laws with my unregistered vehicles.
Bunch of ****in yuppie wannabe POSs came up with this law...HOAs suck, and so do city councils or states that come up with lame laws, that have serious property rights issues like this. |

I beleive this law would more so apply to a car sitting on the side of your house, never driven and un-licenced/un insured. Do you insure your bike? Some states are different , in Az any motor vehicle has to carry a min of liab insurance. |

Would you insure your project car while it was in pieces while working on it? I can tell you, I don't. Why would I? It doesn't run, I can't drive it down to get it smogged for a current tag, but that doesn't mean in the future it won't be fully legal. |

| Re: illegal drivers in AZ & NM, etc I know plenty of guys that don't insure their OHVs, whether they are ATVs, dirtbikes, 4X4s or racebikes.
If it is on someone's personal property, nobody has a right to come and tow it away without their permission.
Some tow truck comes on my property and tries to take something belonging to me away and that tow truck will end up immobile. The driver and company will end up with a lawsuit. |

True.. However any project vehicle would be garage, or back yard kept.. Correct? Not in the street or in down the street. They are targetting more of that than whats in your garage, backyard, etc |
