Re: can u guys tell me what you think

I have a Scorpio alarm on my 929. It is not this model (older one), I will check on the model # when I get home.
It was on the bike when I got it. It seems like a quality unit, functions well the little bit I have used it. The remote feature is a cool idea when you have to leave the bike unattended while out (if it works as advertised, have no experiance with that part).

Re: can u guys tell me what you think

Give him a minute. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt he's just getting all his **** together before he buys his bike. Ya know the storage space, the alarm, THE PROTECTIVE RIDING GEAR. And then he'll sign up for the course.

.....not going to make me a liar are ya KVH?

Yup, yup, could be he still hasn't gotten something yet and is getting prepared with all the other stuff first! We PM'd about local MSF classes and I gave him some info, so hopefully he's found one to take.

Kvh, I want to say that according to your posts, you are exhibiting something that seems to be pretty rare in youth in general; The ability to take advice, and learn from wisdom. Good show!
Godspeed to you young man!

Re: can u guys tell me what you think of this alarm

Sounds good, KvH! Are you going to the motocycle show at the Javits Center in NYC in January? Sometimes they have good deals on gear. I purchased my helmet there last year, from the Service Pavillion. They sell Arai, so that only works if you want an Arai, but there's other vendors there as well. The Service Pavillion booth has a knowledgable staff that will properly fit your helmet. They custom fitted mine with extra foam for no extra cost.

Re: can u guys tell me what you think of this alarm

I have the same alarm but with a very similar older remote. It works fine but not up to 1.5 miles. I park my bike 100 yards from my cubicle, a window and a wall away, on a third floor and the signal works fine. If I get on the elevator or walk toward the inside of the building the signal dies.
Also, the remote eats AA batteries at a rate of 1 per month.
It's basically plug and play if you get the electrical harness adapter except for the ignition disconnect which has to be wired.
So far I'm happy with it even if their ads were a bit optimistic.

i have the same system but with the anti hijack and motion sensor and it works great. the remote woke me up in the middle of the night one night, i jumped up and ran to the garage to see what was going on. luckily, it was just a stray cat that some how got into the garage

its a detached garage

Cool, it's Jan 19-21. Best, easiest way to get in is to take the ferry at Weehawkin. Park at the ferry in NJ, the ferry drops you off about a block from Javits.

Re: can u guys tell me what you think of this alarm

I don't know this alarm personally but all alarms have similar functions. I have never understood the premium people pay for a "motorcycle alarm". No offence to the OP but bikes and cars are all 12V, just buy a quality car alarm and put the appropriate sensors on it.
I guess I don't know about this and this is just my opinion, I installed well over 500 alarms in my day but that day ended several years ago when I left the business.
