Fender Eliminator or Undertail Kit??

Ok boyzzz (and Frenchie) http://www.fireblades.org/ima...es/biggrin.gif ........

The guy who owned my bike before me was evidently a lazy person with no money to spend on his bike. I ought to know as I bought the bike as a repo and he was over a year behind on his DMV fees. http://www.fireblades.org/ima...thumbsdown.gif Loser......

Anyway, he decided he wanted to eliminate his fender without spending a penny. He proceeded to chop the reflectors and the fender / license plate bracket off with a dremel. It looks half-ass from a distance and terrible from close up.

So....I bought a fender eliminator kit a few days ago. Last night I decided to prepare for the installation by reading the installation guide. Listen - I'm pretty good with tools and I can figure most things out, but this damn guide had 23 steps and required a cut here, cut there, splice here, splice there. Mixed with my A.D.D. - this would be a disaster. I then started looking into Undertail kits. I really like the Hot Bodies Undertail Kit. It's more expensive than the Comp. Werks Fender Eliminator Kit I bought, but it looks nicer (I.M.O.) and it has 4 steps compared to 23.

Help me decide!! I'm all ears!!

Re: Fender Eliminator or Undertail Kit??

Here's what I did a couple of years ago. It's carbon fibre material and the kit cost around $100 w/shipping if I remember correctly. If you like it, I'll give you the link to the site where I got it. It's a UK website.

Some of us don't have that luxury, since we ride older bikes. The only US option I have is a Comp Werks, but it requires cutting, so I just cut the fender. I like it and don't really give a damn what anyone else thinks.

Thanks. I'm not bitter. I was replying to tuffy's comment about the dremel method looking half-assed. (see below) If you place the directionals in the right place, it looks stock.

No - you cut FAR less off than the guy that once owned my bike did. You still retained some of the fender.

Re: Fender Eliminator or Undertail Kit??

Sorry about jacking the thread, but;
Has anyone installed an undertail from NYCParts (ebay)? If so , pics? I am interested in what has to be removed, and or cut.
Also, any pics of a hotbodies with the taillights? I actually like the stocker on the 954, but would consider a change after 4 years.
