| Interceptor and gxsr 750 Is there a differance between these like i mean is the interceptor like a cbr cause someone was telling me its like the ninja 650 or something like that like more for touring or something the way its set up? im still learning about it all and i dunno if its people talking out their ass like they know something or nothing at all. im looking to get something a little more than a 600 but not a 1k. i would want it to be a honda so thats why im asking, which would be a better bike? |

Interceptor is a great bike. I started with a '95 VFR 7fiddy! The older ones tend to have some electrical problems (bad reg/rect.) but overall still an excellent bike! |

| Re: Interceptor and gxsr 750 I had on 04 VTEC for 2.5 years and it was a great bike. I put about 11,000 trouble free miles on the bike and enjoyed every mile. The big difference in the two bikes would be weight and handling. The VFR handles pretty good but the suspension needs improvement. It isn't a super sport it's a sport tourer. If you are looking for of a true sportbike you would want to get the Gixxer. If you want all day comfort and a good ride get the VFR. |

| Re: Interceptor and gxsr 750 The interceptor (aka VFR) is not a super sport bike. Its a good mix between a Gold Wing/ST Touring bike and the race replicas. As mentioned before the engine set ups are different.
I would say that most VFR owners bought their bikes to fit a particular riding style as opposed to a CC requirement. That said.... all the VFR owners I know in this area can absolutely smoke 90% of the sportbike riders in the twisties. (with givi bags attached)
I am in the same boat as you as far as wanting a Honda between a 600 and 1000. But judging by your age and (assumed) experience, I would suggest a 600 for now. I will probably end up with a 600 because I can't to try and use a VFR at the track at my level.

-jh | It's the same way here and probably most places as well. I think the average age of a VFR owner is late 30's. Most of the owners have a lot of riding experience and the VFR isn't their first bike. One of my favorite things about having the VFR was when someone, usually on a liter bike, would make fun of my slow bike. I would ask them if they would like to ride with me and see how slow I was. I would take them to the twisties and slow down for them in the straights so they could catch up. They were usually embarassed when we got done and would say, "Yeah but I can beat you in a straight line." At this point I am still faster on a VFR than I am my RR, two completely different animals. |

-jh | I had the factory bags and used them when going to the Gap, etc. You don't get as many squids over there but there are a few. I called them expensive factory sliders.
Chicken strips were never an issue. I love killing the Michelin man. |

I love killing the Metzler and Bridgestone man myself
to each his own (tire brand that is)... but its worth it!
