| Best performance Littre Bike. Oh well, im planning to buy a brand new CBR1K this april, and i would like to know how it possitions itself amoung other bikes like R1, Gixxers, ZR10 and Duc's 999 and 996.
So as far as i get it it goes this way:
R1~GXR1k>CBR1K>>ZR10~999>>996
So it would be cool if someone could fix that formula + add cons and pros of some bikes. |

| Re: Best performance Littre Bike. Ok, I'll be the one to ask,
Was the vtr250 your first bike? Have you ever ridden a bike in the 1000 catagory before?
Unless you're going straight to the track, and maybe you are, in this day and age all those bikes you've mentioned have more "performance" built in to them than 90% of the people that ride ( on the street) them can ever use. |

| No joke, I can't believe how often that happens. I've had everything from teenagers in mommies Tahoe to some middle-age guy in a Taurus try to get me to race, or they won't actually make any motion to me but they'll be creeping trying to jump the light. I generally always just let them go. Every now and then when they are being really stupid about it I just shut them down so fast from 0-30 that they don't know what happened then I'll cruise at the speed limit and they come blowing by ten seconds later at 50 mph and think they won "the race."

| Re: Best performance Littre Bike. couple years ago i caused a kid to get a ticket because of that. He rolled up in a Subaru wrx and started to rev the engine. There was a cop across the street in the turn lane but obviously this idiot didn't see him. I glanced over, nodded my head, and cracked the throttle a couple times. Light turn green, he squeels the tires through the light and I just putted away. Cop instantly turned on his lights, did a u-turn and pulled the genius over. I'm still pretty happy about that one. |

| Re: Best performance Littre Bike. Totally hijacked that thread, sorry. I don't think you can really compare the Duc's to the other three. If I had an extra $15K I would look for a mint condition 996 in a heartbeat. Personal preference but I think they are the best looking bike of all time. If I had an extra $30K I would look for one of the limited edition 999R's. I bought my F4i based completely on performance, comparisons, opinions, reliability, etc. Something like a Ducati would be based completely on pure emotion, and bling factor.

| That has been my goal for years in both my car and on my bike. Complete justice for their idiocy.

Yes, I know, I must learn to control my agressive, compulsive behavior when jackholes in "hotrod" cars pull along side me and give me the "throttle assault" maneuver. I'm learning

| Just read all five pages of that thread, freakin' amusing.
Every week when I would fill my bike the kid at the gas station would come out and we would have the same conversation, " hey man, I love your bike, can it wheelie." I would say, "sure can, but I'm not planning on have my bike impounded or killing someone." Then he'd mumble on about how I don't know what I'm talking about, the bike must be slow, blah, blah, blah. Being insulted by 16 year old gas station clerks really hurts ya know...
