Dan Kyle 954 rebuild / Forks out of spec

Dan Kyle is working his magic on my 954 forks and after speaking with him on the phone today, my tubes are "slightly" out of spec. One is ~.002" the other is ~.005" The bike will be ridden mainly on the street, MAYBE a track day here or there. Question is, is $120-140 justifiable to straighten for street use at this tolerance?

BTW, Dan doesn't do the work; it's done is Sacramento somewhere...just looking for suggestions/advice. Can't wait to get'em back...

You're already paying for suspension work so why not have them fixed. If you realy don't have the cash doesn't seem horrible to leave them.

That is less than I would have expected to have them fixed. If it is a shop the DK trusts then I would do it but I don't know if it is actually worth it or not. No fork expert here. That's one for DK to answer.

I did get DK's input about it.... He said he would "probably" do it, but didn't really push to have it done. I'm a little tight on cash after the rework; just got the bike and this is the first big mod for it...I haven"t been able to ride the bike yet either, so it'll be a bummer not being able to tell the diff between the stock and the mod'ed version of the upgrade.

I wouldn't think the tubes being out at that tolerance range would be noticeable on the street...maybe I'm wrong?

You're already there. Why not? I may be wrong, but I believe the place in Sac he might be sending your forks will be Frame man (The Frame Man -- Motorcycle frame, fork and wheel straightening) I was having the same issue as you were when I getting my Bike worked on by Dan. Not the Spec issue, but initially was suppose to be brake lines and ohlins rear, but ended up being revalve forks with ohlins springs. And money? I'm a College student, I know all about pinching pennies. If it were me, I would go for it. IMO
