| Who owns 2 bikes? Got my VFR but its not like i had hoped. It sure is comfortble but its not that fast and not a "canyon carver". So i was thinking about buying another bike. thinking a 929 or a 600rr. problem is that i think that if i get the other bike the VFR will become obsolete.
I like the VFR because I am going to be commuting from chicago to la crosse every week and its comfy but i want a bike to rip it up. I would probable only use the VFR for 2 up riding or long rides.
Anyone think this way and in the end realize it wasnt a valid idea? |

| Re: Who owns 2 bikes? Same reason I kept the XX when I got the ST1300. Though, I don't ride the XX much anymore, so it's for sale. My wife's 600RR is always available if I need a sportbike "fix" though.
The VFR should be quite good in the twisties. It's a good all-around bike. |

I like the Blackbird, the ST1300 I have absolutely no desire to ride, ever. I can't understand why so many people like it when there's the Goldwing. |

I kind of like the way they handle. I took a Stratoliner for a ride a couple of weeks ago. It was very easy to ride. Kind of like a couch, with vibrating foot rests. I might have bought a cruiser to save on insurance, but on the test ride of a Shadow I had a woman pull out in front of me. She waited until I was at the intersection, and then pulled out. The stopping and turning limitations of a cruiser became painfully apparent. I locked up the front wheel twice and barely managed to steer around the back of the car. |

Is is ok to like cruisers and race replicas at the same time? |

I've ridden my dads Harley Heritage Softail and it's nice but I'm just no where near ready to ride a cruiser all the time |

| Re: Who owns 2 bikes? yeah I've known several guys who have had several stators go out on 'em......I replaced the stator and R/R on the 900 like 2 months ago.....I ride my 929 all the time so I guess I favor that one, my girl rides the 900, I just haven't decided if I want to drag the F4i or if I want to build it for the track, it'll be fun either way though |

I like both, but I wouldn't ride the CBR to La Crosse, so that's why I am keeping the VFR. |

| Re: Who owns 2 bikes? I've got two. The thing with multiple bikes: make sure they don't cross-over otherwise you'll end up with a favorite.
I've got the 929 and a DRZ-SM. The 929 is my daily ride and commuter but the SM is my urban assault vehicle and track-toy.
I'd like to get a third but it's getting difficult to justify the purpose of a third bike beyond as a "touring" bike - and I feel I'd be let down by most traditional touring bikes' handling and a sport-tourer would be too close to the 929 for comfort. |

| Re: Who owns 2 bikes? I think you need around five - one dirt, one track/race, one sprotbile, one dualsport or SM, and a cruiser/tourer/sport tourer about covers it.
I have a dirtbike, my sportbike is doing track duty, so that's covering two uses, I have a dualsport, and eventually when I sell my uber nice 78 GS750E, I may replace that with a more current sport tourer. I could be talked into an ST4. They actually all get ridden, although other than to cruise around our place and hunt down fire ant piles for chemical annhiliation, I haven't ridden my dirtbike much for awhile... |

| Re: Who owns 2 bikes? You know, now that I think about it, I would like to have like a GS500 or SV650 to ride to work during the week. I do get kind of tired riding the same bike day in and day out. I may consider a Honda 599, but I haven't heard anything good or bad about them. |

My wife prefers 2up on the Repsol rather than the cushy seated FZ6. Contemplating a ST1300 or a FJ1300 for long haul cruising. Any similar suggestions?
