here is one site to buy the manual CCT, I've replaced my stock tensioner with this one and it totally fixed the problem:
here is a site with great instructions, this is for an F4i, I believe a 2001.
EDIT: <link was removed by moderator, please PM me if you need it >
and yes, the noise is at certain RPM's wether sitting in neutral or riding pretty much, best sound description I've heard is "sounds like a few BB's rattling around" and mine was at about 2200 and between 5000 and 6000 both up and down. I put the APE manual in and it went away completely.
the noise is not actually the CCT itself but the very end of the tensioner.
it has (who knows why) a separat "head" piece held on by a "c" clip or roller clip, the clip gets loose after a while (on mine it was right around 5,000 miles) and is little "head" piece is what rattles so much, it's said by Honda that it's no big deal and will not hurt anything, but if you are like me, you can't stand that distracting noise while you are trying to enjoy your ride
hope that helps.
PS I used the exact tools described after trying other combinations to no avail, just spend the money on the 1/4 inch drive items if you don't have them already , it will save you some time.
