Engine Management System/Traction Control

Are there any valid rumors about Honda developing something like the GSXR 1000's push button engine management system in the near future?

Although it has met with mixed reviews and is a passive system (limits engine power all the time rather than active traction control,) the the idea of picking up another liter-bike (instead of a 600) with the ability to limit power to the rear wheel in bad conditions or even at a track day interests me.

I'm not a big Suzuki fan, so the GSXR itself isn't on my short list. A Honda with similar technology however, might be worth putting off buying a new bike for a year or two.

Has anyone tried it out on the Suzuki?

Havent tried it and dont plan to. I agree with some of the others in that when would you really use the '600' setting? Better yet the '750' setting? I just really dont see the point. Although if youre full on in '750' mode then flip to '1000' mode, that would be pretty sweet, kinda like nitrous. Rain? Track day? Thats why theres a throttle. Im sure other companies will come out with something similar but I just dont see it being that useful. Sales people will have another selling point to get the newbie 17yr old to get the 1000 versus the 600. "You can ride for a couple months on '600' mode to get the feel of it" yeah ok...
