| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? hi guys, don't know how it works in the US but in england it's split into 3 sections - fully comprehensive (complete cover)
- 3rd party fire and theft
- 3rd party only (lowest cover)
on my '94 blade with a £500 alarm i've been quoted £1100 for 3rd party fire and theft! that is a lot of money but i am only 21! most insurance companies won't even quote on fireblades until you are 30. due to their reputation for speed and being stolen.
still worth every penny!! midrange wheelies and foot peg scraping capabilities! wouldn't go back to my ninja 600 any time soon!! |

Looks like I need to spend sometime with a State Farm agent. I didn't even bother with them before because I couldn't get a quote online, and I figured it would be in the same ball park as the rest anyway. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Here in Michigan with it being a NO FAULT State, I pay $800.00 a year for full coverage on my 929, with no points or accidents through progressive. Thats with a $500 deductible. If I bumped it up to $1000 it only made a $45 difference a year! |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? State Farm doesn't distinguish between us and the retirement bikes. As stated above, it's all about CC's and market value of the bike. On top of that, their coverage is awesome. I've had two accidents where the person at fault (not me) was insured by State Farm and they were very easy to deal with.
In my "big" accident they even payed out $25k from my policy because the person at fault had maxed out their coverage and didn't have any assets.
It helps if your best friend is banging your agent, too! |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Just traded my Goldwing for a 919 today. My insurance jumped from $400 a year to $1500 a year. Didn't think it would jump that much. That was progressive. Changed to Geico and got a better price. They said that next year the price would drop due to my age(will be 35) and would also save 20%after taking a motorcycle safety course. It should drop to about $600. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Here there is one insurance for all vehicles and it's not full coverage. Anyway, I pay 40leva per year, which is about 20$. But the insurers are cunning and they never pay you what you deserve. Don't be shocked from the price, it is Bulgaria here, different standard. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? I have progressive and full coverage on my 954 and I just added my brother to my insurance. $350 a year with a $250 deductible. When I bought my 929 new in 2000 it cost me $140+ a month and I could only ride it 7 or 8 months out of the year, its been awhile so I am not sure on that. If I had only liability it would have been 75 a year. I did have a few speeding tickets in 2000, my record has been clean for over 3 years now(knock on wood). |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? State Farm in SF Bay California:
'02 954, Full coverage w/ $500 deductible: $606/yr.
I get all the deductions (good driver, multi-policy, long term victime (they call it 'customer', etc.)
Of course, now that I totalled it at Infineon, I don't pay anything!
Funny thing is, I've totalled 3 vehicles in 3 years. This last one was the first one that was my fault. Sometimes I feel like I've got a magnet in my back pocket the way people keep hitting me.
After I get the 954 back on the street, I'll be looking for liability only. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? It's funny how this thread comes out right in the middle of my insurance crisis... Long story short, I'm at $675/yr for 25/50k, $500 comp. No collision on it now. This is down from $1828 when I got the bike. . Company called American Modern. I wish State Farm would get back to me. I even have a clean record. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? State Farm = $319.00 per year.
Full coverage, $250 Coll, $250 Comp.
Age 36, married, accident free.
2006 Honda 919.
Progressive & Geico were quoting me over $1400 per year for same coverage.
WTF is wrong with those companies?? How in the hell do other people get much cheaper rates? |
