I fell off my bike last year trying to get out of the way of a female minibus driver, but have had more incidents with men pulling out on me, seriously bad tailgating, etc., than with women doing the same..

I'm 24 with a crystal clear record on a 96 CBR600F3. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? around 1K per year for full comp and $370 for tyre and rim insurance, worth it's weight in gold.
As two days after i took out the ins i got a screw in my rear and we all know how exp that can be! But tyre was replaced with a new one no questions. |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? No offense but $370 a year will buy a lot of tires. What are the odds of two incidents like that in any one year? Even if you blew one rear and one front every single year that would only be $300 a year out of your pocket. I just had a brand new set of 208's mounted and balanced for $270. I'd say save the $370 and get a new set of tires every year. For $370 you could get 2ct's or Corsa III's.

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? That $370 is for 3yrs cover... and that is my second flat for the year, the other one was 2weeks after buying a new set for my now gone ZX6R. $500 for the set here and thats cheap for Bridgestone. Oh and a rear for my 929 pilot2 is $340 |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Okay cool, for three years the math works out much better. I didn't notice the first time that you were in Australia. I've never had a single flat in all the years I've ridden so I don't think I need any coverage. I'll get a flat now since I said that, ha. My flat insurance is a plug kit in my trunk so that I at least can get home to change the tire.

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Progressive @ $78 year for liability only because it's the law.
Buying insurance is like gambling and I don't want to bet against myself. IMHO, spending my money on bets when I don't have the correct odds costs lots of money over a lifetime.
don't have industry info but I'd guess that a significant % of claims are coming from guys that are either taking too many chances or have no business on a bike to begin with. I started a "crash pool" at work and and I collected twice in a row as my selection as "most likely to dump it" did just that. We are all paying the premium for guys like this.
Even though my 954 is used as a commuter, I still consider it a toy. I made a it a policy long ago not to finance or over-insure toys.
If I can't afford to crash it, I won't own it. I never park it in a place where it can get stolen. My med coverage will pay for bone/skin repair.
Sorry if this comes across as a highjack . |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? Want to becom an instant millionaire? Easy, start an insurance company!!! I swear, they are the biggest cons of the 21st century. I really hope their days are numbered. There must be some other way of protecting one's assets. I was shocked to learn that only a fraction of these giants turnover goes into paying out customers. 95% of our hard earned cash which we hand over to them, they invest in bonds and equities on the stock market. They are laughing all the way to the bank. There's only one answer, if their rates are too high, don't support them. I personally hate them and haven't insured my bike or car now for over three years and never had an accident, thanks to practicing safe driving/riding and prayer. You mighyt think this is crazy on my part but ask yourself this question, can you insure yourself against aids? If not, then how do you void it? Answer's quite simple. |

Liability, comp and collision the whole shooting match we pay $270 a month, just got a quote from progressive since they keep bugging me, and I had 5 minutes of boredom to kill so thought I'd give the cold calling dork a shot at feeling good. $2400 year for just the 954, the whole package was almost $7000 |

| Re: How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance? I use Bike line from Markel Ins, online is the easiest way to get a quote and buy a policy. I insure my Harley 1596CC's(Full Dresser 07) for 428/.year with full coverage, when I got my 02 954 insured with them it was 510/year with no collision/comp, $1000 deductible. I am 32, over 10 years riding exp, but I have had a few infractions in the past 7 years...hopefully they will give me a break when they fall off my record.
My wife is 25 with a 07 Dyna Wide Glide and pays 400/year with progressive..I think I am being discriminated against because I am male and have testosterone...
Honestly, I am psyched with these rates, Geico wanted over 2k/year for both bikes and another 800 for my truck. |
