Re: More F4 problems still wont start

Where did you get this bike? Was it running when you got it? Did the owner show the starting sequence?

To start this bike, the emergency stop has to be out, kickstand up, clutch lever pulled in, transmission in neutral, and the start button pressed. All of those conditions have to be met before voltage will flow to the starter solenoid. That is...if your charging/battery system is working.

Other than that, the starting circuit is a simple trace through those locations. For example, if the small wire next to the kickstand is disconnected, the bike will not run.

Yeah it was running great for about a week... I'll give that a try but considering the light goes out that makes me question some kind of wiring problem or a bad starter.

Loose connectors where the hands or feet can be are the first to get knocked free. Check the clutch lever where there are two wires and the neutral switch. Chances are, there's a wire sticking out.

Re: More F4 problems still wont start

There are cut off sensors on all of the above mentioned controls. Gear, sidestand sensor, not to mention centrestand on the F4. To start off with wiggle each and every lever and make sure it's upright and tucked away.

Then the obvious, make sure the kill switch isn't off.

It could be a blown fuse, check any/all fuses and replace if necessary. They're easily accessible under the seat and very easily replaced.

Check the kill switch for corrosion or loose connections.
