| Re: What is the one thing you never leave home without.. Well, for sunday morning rides I pack the bare minimum. Pressure gage, mobile phone, power bars, water, medical, lic and insurance cards with a copy under the seat just in case, strong mints for my allergies (they only work for about 30 min but don't make me woozy) cloth for cleaning my helmet, lighter, extra gloves, sun glasses and ear plugs. Most importantly, I make sure I'm prepared to ride. I must have had something to eat, enough sleep and a clear head. This might seem odd to some but I also bring the small metal bullet that contains my Dads ashes, he goes with me everywhere on the bike. For long trips the list is extensive and a little over the top. |

And I keep my Dad's ashes (actually more of a bone-fragment) in a Chinese pill box with a small bit of my Uncle's ashes, but would hate to risk losing them so they reside on a shelf near some books I never read. |

I'm gonna have to step up on some of these things like tire repair kit. I usually just have phone, wallet, knife and my fake "tool kit" that came with the bike. |

They keep 85% of the wind noise out and are fairly effective for sound without having to turn it up too loud.
I'm going to have custom earplugs made soon that have speakers built into them.

spare pair of contact lenses
| I hadn't thought about that because in my 16 years of wearing contacts I've never had a problem but I would be absolutely screwed if something did happen to mine. I might put a pair in my trunk. I always remember a pair when I go on a trip but hadn't thought about taking a pair for every ride.

I've been wearing them for 12 years and I never carry a spare set. I think I'd be better off taking my glasses instead. Good point though. Quote: |

| I always use them for when I visit my girl. She don't like them but no sex is worth dying for, no matter how good it is. K.I.D.S. are killing people everyday! |

They came in the same sealed packaging as the ones I saw at Best Buy for $120. Even came with a warranty card and all the manuals. I've put them through the ringer too and they still keep pumping the beats for me, no problems at all. You are right though, I find that EBay is a generally a "You get what you pay for" type of place. But I do my research before I buy anything and I have never been screwed out of my hard earned money. I've had friends that weren't so lucky though. In this case, I called the seller on a few occasions asking questions and he seemed to check out. Kinda helps when you have the ability to do that. In this case, I made out like a bandit. |

| Re: What is the one thing you never leave home without.. How do you like the E2s? I found the bass impressive, but the treble sort of indistinct. I had the E-1s for years with my in-ear monitors, and when the 5s and 3s came out, I had to try. Mine are all the plain grey ones (except for the 4s which are the gaming edition and the clear plastic of the 5s) but I only use the 3s, 4s and 5s now, as they work with my custom molds. But the 3s are really the best for riding, as they are the smallest, lightest, and have the smallest profile outside the ear, and have a nicely balanced sound. |

| Re: What is the one thing you never leave home without.. I find the E2s are very durable and comfortable. Sound quality I give a 8.5 out of 10. Not a bad balance of bass and treble. And quality does not diminish as the volume goes up, a plus in my book. Though, they never see full blast due to me using a somewhat quiet helmet (Scorpion EXO-700, fiberglass/kevlar shell) so it doesn't take much. Add to that, the sound isolation is the best I've had. I tried the Sony MDR-EX51LPs and the Denon AH-C700s and they were both marginal at best, they never quite set into my ear as I liked with the E2s, they kept falling out. Annoying when you are enjoying a tune. Hopefully these never wear out but if they do, I will be picking up a new set of E3s. Thanks for the recommendation. |

Since almost everybody has cell phone on the list try this.... you can programm the entry ICE in your phone book for EMT, docotor, etc... most emergency response staff know this. I.C.E stands for in case of emergency so when they look up the entry in your cell the list of numbers to call mobile, home, work, etc... can be the people who need to know first |
